Job Duties and Responsibilities
Boost Mobile is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the routing infrastructure that powers the Boost Mobile 5G network. This role plays a critical part in building and scaling DISH's nationwide 5G transport and core connectivity, enabling millions of customers to stay connected.
As a senior technical member of the team, you'll serve as a subject matter expert for BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, and dark-fiber transport across our multi-100G backbone network. You'll be responsible for high-level design decisions, mentoring other engineers, and driving automation and standardization initiatives that improve network reliability, scalability, and performance.
You'll collaborate closely with peers in architecture, operations, and automation teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and consistent delivery of a world-class 5G experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and deployment of high-performance routing and transport infrastructure supporting Boost Mobile's nationwide 5G network
  • Develop and enforce network standards, policies, and automation frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex BGP/MPLS/Segment Routing/EVPN troubleshooting and performance optimization
  • Partner with architecture and planning teams to evaluate and integrate new technologies into production
  • Oversee the activation, migration, and optimization of network devices across multiple regions and vendors
  • Drive automation and telemetry initiatives, including tool development and integration with network management systems
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level network engineers and cross-functional partners
  • Collaborate with vendors to influence product roadmaps, resolve escalations, and validate new features through lab testing
  • Contribute to capacity planning, performance analysis, and future growth strategies for the 5G transport network

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in network engineering, architecture, or service provider environments
  • Deep expertise in routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, ISIS)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco carrier-grade platforms
  • Proven experience with network automation and orchestration tools (Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Netconf/YANG)
  • Experience designing or operating large-scale 5G, LTE, or wireless transport networks
  • Experience influencing or contributing to network architecture and roadmap decisions

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, including presenting technical concepts to leadership
  • Thorough understanding of transport and optical technologies (DWDM, dark fiber, 100G+ Ethernet)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from design through deployment, with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure connectivity (AWS, Azure, or private cloud)
  • Familiarity with network telemetry, streaming analytics, and observability platforms
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert-level credentials

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $140,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
