Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day technical leadership for the development team by mentoring junior and mid-level developers and serving as a technical point of escalation

  • Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices across the team

  • Assign development tasks, guide implementation approaches, and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule

  • Support developers by helping troubleshoot complex technical challenges, production issues, and performance bottlenecks

  • Maintain, enhance, and debug existing VB.NET applications while actively driving modernization efforts in C#

  • Participate in application design, system architecture, and technical decision-making with an enterprise-level mindset

  • Collaborate closely with QA, Business Analysts, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and deliver reliable solutions

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures with a focus on performance and data integrity

  • Analyze and resolve database-related issues, including long-running queries and resource contention

  • Design, implement, and support integrations using RESTful APIs and service-based architectures

  • Ensure proper error handling, logging, and monitoring are built into applications

  • Support release planning, deployment readiness, and post-release validation activities

  • Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams of multiple developers, contributing to shared ownership and team success

  • Continuously evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to technology, tools, and processes

You Must Have:

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience in an enterprise or production environment

  • Strong expertise in C# with the ability to lead new development and modernization initiatives

  • Very strong working knowledge of VB.NET, including the ability to support and enhance legacy systems

  • Advanced SQL development experience, including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance tuning

  • Hands-on experience with Git-based source control and tools such as Azure DevOps or TFS

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and guiding technical growth within a team

  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions, make sound engineering decisions, and take ownership of outcomes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve issues

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Self-starter who can work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Industry experience including direct marketing, e-commerce, print, graphic design and insurance and financial services

  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based platforms and services

  • Background supporting enterprise-scale, production-critical applications with high reliability requirements

  • Exposure to Agile or hybrid development methodologies

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment processes
