Key Responsibilities:
- Perform RF design activities related to building the first standalone 5G broadband network in the US
- Perform Monte Carlo analysis for network capacity evaluation
- Responsible for determining equipment and power configurations
- Work with RF Management and Technology team to establish design criteria, link budget and traffic analysis as needed for network design and update existing performance parameters for ongoing improvements as required
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- BSEE/BSCS degree (MScEE degree preferred) with at least 6 years of relevant LTE RF Design working experience and 10 or more years overall wireless experience in Design/Optimization or Operations roles including RF support of Site Acquisition and site Construction teams
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in 3G/4G/5G and NR theory with practical experience in macro and small cell RF designs, including RF KPIs and link budgets for 3GPP technologies
- Expertise in 5G NR technology, antenna theory, propagation models, and O-RAN architecture, as well as calibration and use of LTE/5G optimization tools
- Skilled in industry propagation tools (e.g., Planet, Atoll) and drive test data processing using Windcatcher/Actix/Accuver, with experience in frequency planning and interference analysis
- Knowledge of co-location requirements, inter-modulation analysis, and experience with EME/FCC reports
- Ability to provide SME support, lead project teams, mentor engineers, and write MOPs
- Experience with Python, Java, PowerShell, data management, and creating Macros
