The Marketing Science team at Flipp works cross-functionally with clients, analysts, and external partnerships to executive campaigns at the highest level of effectiveness. The Senior Marketing Science Analyst acts as an analytical consultant for Flipp’s business development and product teams, in support of Retail, Brand, and Media partners. You assess the business situation, select the appropriate testing & measurement approach and derive actionable insights to deliver business performance. You collaborate effectively with peers and mentor entry level analysts both technically and methodologically. You are the operator of the request model and the keepers of the cadence. This profile makes the two-way pipeline real: intake flowing in from the regional teams in every market, and structured, prioritized requests flowing out to Product and Data Engineering. 

What you'll get the opportunity to do:
  • Plan & Design
    • E2e delivery of testing & measurement process - setup, execution & analysis - w/minimal support
    • Selects best-fit approach based on Flipp testing & measurement best practices
    • Advises overall testing & measurement plan design
    • Manages assigned tickets in JIRA workflow w/minimal support
    • Contributes to development & delivery of strategic analytics roadmap for assigned portfolio
  • Data Preparation & Modeling
    • Highly proficient in data extraction, manipulation and aggregation
    • Effectively navigate enterprise level systems & large datasets
    • Strong understanding of Flipp's data models, limitations & relevant applications
    • Identify process efficiency opportunities & develop working prototypes
  • Analysis & Measurement
    • Proficient with foundational statistical concepts
    • Deep expertise in digital marketing attribution and incrementality measurement
    • Execute Flipp testing & measurement playbooks and improvises creatively w/data off script
    • Identify root cause issues & scalable opportunities through strong diagnostic analysis & curiosity
    • Investigates and drives to resolution on identified data anomalies 
    • Apply and help improve measurement standards, intake criteria, service expectations, escalation protocols, documentation requirements, and quality-control practices across assigned work
    • Assess incoming requests for business value, urgency, feasibility, data readiness, and appropriate measurement path, then classify, prioritize, and route them accordingly. 
  • Generating & Delivering Insights
    • Drives meaningful action by extracting ""So What"" & ""Now What"" in d2d analysis
    • Develops compelling, insightful and tailored analysis and measurement approaches to answer ambiguous business challenges
    • Utilizes industry leading BI tools to effectively visualize key insights
    • Adept at presenting analysis to both technical and non-technical internal audiences & assigned external stakeholders
    • Translate commercial and client measurement needs into clear, analytical, Product, Data Science, and Data Engineering requirements, including scope, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and expected business outcomes.
  • Innovation & Growth
    • Actively expands skills & knowledge both technically and in digital marketing & measurement
    • Contribute to development & documentation of internal testing & measurement best practices
    • Contributes to x-functional testing & measurement innovation initiatives
    • Lead the integration of advanced analytics and research into client deliverables and business reviews
    • Define data requirements for product and data science / engineering teams
    • Produce process improvement documentation that records the actions, findings, limitations, reusable assets, and lessons learned so successful approaches can be replicated across future projects. 
What you'll bring to the team:
  • Post secondary degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics/Math/Finance/Economics/Business Engineering or similar field
  • 3+ years experience as a data analyst delivering continued business impact
  • Advanced technical ability in data extraction and analysis - SQL, Python, Scala, R
  • Experience analyzing & visualizing data w/industry leading BI tools - tableau, PowerBI, Thoughtspot, Looker
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud data platforms - AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience working with databricks an asset
  • Strong understanding of Retail, CPG, digital measurement & consumer insights
  • Self-starter, highly effective working independently and within a team
  • Experience developing analytical standards, QA practices, SOPs, reusable frameworks, and documentation that support consistent execution across analysts, clients, or markets 
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous commercial or client needs into clear analytical, data, product, and engineering requirements 
  • Strong experience managing multiple concurrent measurement initiatives, including prioritization, scope, dependencies, timelines, risks, and Jira-based workflows 
  • Experience advising senior internal and external stakeholders, challenging assumptions, managing expectations, and managing delivery timelines.
