About Oura

Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award‑winning products help our global community gain deeper insight into their readiness, activity, and sleep quality through the Oura Ring and its connected app. We’ve helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a fast‑growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we make sure our team members have what they need to do their best work—both in and out of the office.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Revenue Policy & Revenue Contract Review to join our growing Revenue & O2C Accounting team. In this role, you’ll be the technical backbone of our revenue function—owning our ASC 606 revenue policies, leading contract review for complex and strategic deals, and driving the documentation and governance needed to support both internal stakeholders and external auditors.

You will also own SKU governance and set‑up across revenue‑impacting products and services, and have a unique opportunity to meet monthly with the Accounting leadership team to review key contracts, terms, and emerging policy topics.

Role Overview

As a Senior Manager in our Revenue & O2C Accounting organization, you will:

Own technical revenue policy

  • Own and maintain Oura’s global revenue recognition policy framework under ASC 606, including policy memos, position papers, and internal guidance
  • Develop and update accounting policies for new products, pricing models (including subscription and B2B constructs), sales motions, and go‑to‑market strategies
  • Translate complex technical conclusions into clear, scalable guidance for Accounting, FP&A, Sales, Legal, RevOps, and other cross‑functional partners
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors on revenue policies, significant judgments, and supporting documentation

Lead contract review & documentation

  • Lead the end‑to‑end revenue contract review process for strategic, non‑standard, and/or complex deals (enterprise, channel, partnerships, and unique commercial constructs)
  • Analyze key terms (performance obligations, variable consideration, discounts, usage or volume‑based features, options, rights, renewals, termination, and SLAs) and determine revenue recognition implications under ASC 606
  • Draft high‑quality technical accounting memos that document fact patterns, technical analysis, conclusions, and alternatives considered
  • Build and maintain standardized templates and checklists for contract intake, review, and memo documentation to drive consistency and scalability
  • Partner closely with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, and RevOps to review deal structures early and proactively influence contract terms and “guardrails”

Govern SKUs and revenue mapping

  • Own the SKU governance framework for revenue‑impacting SKUs, including design, approval, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure each SKU is clearly mapped to performance obligations, revenue streams, and accounting treatment in the ERP and connected systems
  • Partner with RevOps, Finance Systems, and IT/Engineering to ensure accurate SKU configuration, billing logic, and data flows that support compliant and efficient revenue recognition
  • Design and strengthen controls and processes around SKU creation, changes, and deprecation, ensuring audit‑ready documentation

Leadership, visibility & enablement

  • Lead a monthly review with the Accounting leadership team to walk through key contracts, non‑standard terms, policy updates, and emerging risks
  • Provide ongoing training and enablement for Accounting and cross‑functional teams on revenue policies, standard terms, and deal review expectations
  • Identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities across revenue policy, contract review, and SKU governance
  • Coach and mentor team members on technical accounting, judgment, and documentation best practices
What we’re looking for

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant focus on revenue recognition under ASC 606 (combination of Big 4 or national public accounting experience strongly preferred)
  • Deep, hands‑on expertise with ASC 606 (identifying performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, principal vs. agent, standalone selling price, etc.)
  • Experience in technology, consumer, and/or subscription / recurring revenue businesses
  • Proven track record owning revenue policies and leading complex contract reviews and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable tools—checklists, templates, standard memo formats, and playbooks
  • Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to draft concise, well‑structured memos and policy documents
  • Strong comfort and genuine interest in reading, interpreting, and dissecting contracts, including non‑standard and cross‑border arrangements
  • Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills; able to explain complex technical topics in clear, business‑oriented language
  • High attention to detail, strong ownership mindset, and a bias toward building scalable, repeatable processes and controls
Preferred qualifications
  • CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Experience within high‑growth, global organizations and evolving go‑to‑market motions
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP, and working with RevOps / systems teams on SKU and revenue configuration
  • Direct experience supporting quarterly and annual audits on complex revenue topics and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Prior people leadership experience within a revenue accounting or technical accounting function
Location
  • Remote, United States
  • Open to candidates across continental U.S. time zones. Occasional travel may be required for team or cross‑functional meetings
