Position Overview  

The Senior Manager – Systems Accounting plays a critical leadership role within the Finance and IT teams, ensuring financial systems are effectively implemented, optimized, and aligned with business objectives. This role drives strategic initiatives, enhances internal controls, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across the group. The Senior Manager will act as a key liaison between finance, IT, and executive stakeholders, influencing decision-making and ensuring financial systems support long-term business growth.  

Essential Job Functions

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the financial systems strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and operational needs.  

  • Business Partnership: Serve as the primary liaison between finance, IT, and other business units to ensure systems efficiency and compliance.  

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements that enhance financial reporting, automation, and overall system performance.  

  • Governance & Compliance: Oversee compliance with financial regulations, policies, and best practices, ensuring a strong internal control environment.  

Financial Systems Management

  • Oversee the implementation, integration, and ongoing management of financial systems across the group.  

  • Provide subject matter expertise on financial systems, ensuring they are optimized for operational efficiency and compliance.  

  • Lead the testing and deployment of new system functionalities and improvements.  

Business Process Enhancement

  • Collaborate with finance leaders to evaluate and refine business processes, driving efficiency and innovation.  

  • Ensure consistency in finance system workflows, including permissions, approvals, and segregation of duties.  

  • Lead initiatives to automate financial reporting, integrate multiple data sets, and enhance cross-functional system interfaces (e.g., Power BI and data lake integration).  

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Act as the key point of contact for executive leadership and external consultants regarding financial system advancements.  

  • Drive financial systems training programs, enabling internal expertise and reducing reliance on external support.  

  • Support internal audit reviews and maintain audit evidence for financial systems controls.  

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure robust internal financial controls and risk mitigation strategies are in place.  

  • Oversee adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements across all finance operations.  

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements  

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial systems implementation and management

  • Qualified accountant (or QBE) with extensive experience in financial systems implementation and management.  

  •   Proven track record in leading finance systems strategy and driving continuous improvement initiatives.  

  •   Strong background in internal audit, financial governance, and regulatory compliance.  

  • Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail.  

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities.  

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.  

  • Proficiency in financial systems, including Yardi, Power BI, and Microsoft Office 365.  

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $150,000- $160,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
