The Impact You Will Make
As the Senior Manager, Marketing Project Management, you will be the operational backbone that enables our University Partners to launch and grow high-impact online programs. You will lead a team of project managers and a portfolio of complex marketing initiatives—spanning website builds, digital media campaigns, lifecycle journeys, and new pilot initiatives—ensuring every project is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard. Your leadership will directly shape how efficiently and effectively the Marketing organization operates, creating visible improvements in process, quality, and team performance that resonate throughout the business.
How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life
What You Will Do:
Lead the planning, scoping, execution, and delivery of multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time, on-scope completion
Lead and oversee project scheduling and resource capacity within the marketing PM department; establish overall project status timelines and ensure team delivery is on time and within budget
Collaborate with Sr. Manager, Director, VP, and ELT-level stakeholders across multiple business functions to align priorities, identify dependencies, triage risks, facilitate trade-off discussions, and provide decision support in complex or constrained delivery scenarios
Directly manage a team of 3–6 project managers and project management specialists; set clear role expectations and performance standards, provide ongoing coaching and development, conduct quarterly performance check-ins and annual reviews, and address performance concerns proactively and constructively
Own, monitor and report on resource capacity of creative teams; use creative problem-solving to optimize utilization and reduce bottlenecks; escalate project prioritization concerns as needed
Lead project retrospectives and synthesizes key learnings for ongoing process improvement
Develop project documentation including roadmaps, workflows, status reports, and dashboards
Evolve project management systems to improve operations visibility, reporting, and capacity planning
Create onboarding plans and oversee training and development of new project management hires; educate internal stakeholders on marketing project management processes and tools
Lead organizational and departmental process optimization efforts; develop and maintain team SOPs and champion adoption of improvements across the organization
Champion adoption and continuous improvement of project management and creative optimization tools
What Success Looks Like:
University Partner marketing campaigns and digital projects launch on time and within scope, with minimal escalation or rework
The project management team operates with high efficiency and strong cross-functional relationships
Clear, real-time visibility into resource capacity, enabling proactive planning and prioritization
SOPs and workflows are scalable, well-documented, adopted across the broader marketing organization, and continuously improved
How Impact Will be Measured:
Project on-time delivery rate and milestone adherence across the portfolio
Resource utilization and capacity planning accuracy for the creative teams
Reduction in project escalations, delays, and rework
Adoption rate of new SOPs, tools, and process improvements introduced by the team
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Experience That Matters Most:
7+ years of advanced experience in project or program management
3+ years managing website and digital marketing projects; solid understanding of web project and digital marketing campaign workflows
3+ years of experience as a people manager, with demonstrated success hiring, onboarding, dayto-day coaching, ongoing professional development, and addressing performance concerns
Demonstrated ability to manage daily/weekly capacity of large, cross-functional managed resource teams
Proven ability to develop scalable processes, create SOPs, and optimize workflows to streamline project schedules
Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams)
Experience That’s Great to Have:
5+ years in Higher Education, Creative Agency, or Online Program Management (OPM) environment
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Project Management, Communications, or related field
Project Management certification (PMP, Agile, or equivalent)
Proficiency with Adobe Workfront, specifically with resource capacity planning features
Demonstrated ability to manage and influence stakeholder expectations and alignment
Strong understanding of integrated marketing strategies including SEO, UX, digital, email, and social media
Ability to effectively interact with a variety of teams (creative, UX, development, scrum masters, project managers, product marketers) at all levels of management within an organization (specialist, manager, director, VP, ELT)
Strong analysis, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
