Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, People Technology serves as the technical and operational leader for the organization’s People systems, with primary ownership of Workday and supporting HR technologies. This role is responsible for system configuration, integrations, data integrity, and service delivery, while leading the HRIS team and ensuring a high-performing, scalable People technology environment that supports business operations and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own Workday & HR Technology Operations: Serve as the product owner for Workday (HCM, Absence, Talent, Advanced Compensation) and supporting systems, driving system optimization, enhancements, and day-to-day operations.
- Lead HRIS Team & Service Delivery: Manage and develop the HRIS team and People support function, ensuring high-quality, timely resolution of system and employee inquiries through a centralized service model.
- System Configuration & Optimization: Oversee system configuration, business process design, and enhancements to ensure alignment with organizational needs, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Integration & Technical Management: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of integrations between Workday and other platforms, partnering closely with IT to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Ensure accuracy and integrity of People data through audits, controls, and governance frameworks; partner cross-functionally to maintain compliant and reliable data practices.
- End-User Support & Training: Provide advanced technical support to People teams and business leaders, while developing training materials, documentation, and self-service resources to enhance system adoption.
- System Upgrades & Continuous Improvement: Manage system releases, updates, and enhancements in partnership with vendors, ensuring minimal disruption and continuous improvement of capabilities.
- Stakeholder Partnership & Communication: Collaborate with People, Finance, IT, and Operations leaders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and communicate system updates and impacts.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead hiring, coaching, and performance management of direct reports, fostering a high-performing, solutions-oriented team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in HRIS, People Technology, or related functions, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Workday configuration (HCM, Absence, Business Processes, Reporting; Compensation/Talent preferred).
- Experience managing HRIS teams and service delivery models (ticketing systems, shared services, etc.).
- Proven experience with system integrations and working cross-functionally with IT.
- Strong understanding of data governance, audits, and compliance within HR systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and drive resolution independently.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
