About the Role
Yahoo Commerce is seeking a Senior Manager, Paid Search to lead and scale a growing performance marketing business focused on affiliate commerce and consumer acquisition. This role will own paid search strategy and execution across platforms including Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads, while helping shape the long-term vision, operating model, and growth strategy for the organization.
This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of search marketing, analytics, landing page optimization, affiliate monetization, and growth strategy. The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on paid search expertise with the ability to build processes and drive strategic decision-making in a fast-moving environment.
The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with product, analytics, engineering, business development, and editorial teams, and play a key role in scaling Yahoo Commerce’s paid acquisition capabilities profitably.
Responsibilities:Paid Search Strategy & GrowthOwn the overall paid search strategy across Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads
Develop scalable growth plans that balance revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency
Identify and evaluate new acquisition opportunities, categories, keyword strategies, and search platform capabilities
Manage and optimize media investment across campaigns, verticals, and affiliate partners
Drive performance forecasting, budget planning, and growth modeling
Campaign Management & Optimization
Oversee execution and optimization of paid search campaigns across Google and Microsoft/Bing
Establish testing frameworks for bidding strategies, keyword expansion, ad copy, audience segmentation, and landing page optimization
Leverage enterprise Claude models to rapidly draft, iterate, and test high-volume ad copy and performance content at scale.
Monitor and improve core performance metrics including CPA, ROAS, conversion rate, revenue, and margin
Partner with analytics and engineering teams to improve attribution, tracking, and reporting capabilities
Translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for leadership
Landing Pages & Conversion Optimization
Partner closely with CRO and content teams to improve landing page performance and user conversion
Utilize Claude to inform visual creative direction and analyze concept iterations for search-driven landing experiences.
Help define experimentation roadmaps for landing page testing and search audience optimization
Ensure search experiences are aligned with user intent and monetization goals
Support the development of scalable systems for launching and iterating on new category experiences
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Mentor paid search team members and manage agency/external partners
Build scalable operating processes, documentation, and reporting standards
Collaborate with product, engineering, analytics, finance, legal/privacy, and business development stakeholders
Communicate performance trends, strategic priorities, and business impact to senior leadership
Contribute to organizational planning, hiring assessments, and long-term team capabilities development
Measurement & Operations
Drive improvements to attribution, conversion tracking, offline conversion uploads, and internal reporting systems
Construct and run database and performance reporting queries built and refined through Claude, shifting team efforts from manual data extraction to strategic synthesis.
Partner with technical teams on integrations involving ad platform APIs, analytics pipelines, and landing page infrastructure
Ensure operational excellence across campaign launches, QA, tracking accuracy, and partner compliance
Help establish scalable measurement frameworks that connect search performance to downstream revenue outcomes
7+ years of experience in paid search, performance marketing, or growth marketing
Deep expertise managing campaigns across Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads
Strong understanding of conversion-focused marketing, attribution, and performance analytics
Demonstrated experience utilizing generative AI tools to build reporting queries, draft ad copy, and optimize analytical workflows.
Experience managing meaningful media budgets with accountability for ROI or profitability targets
Demonstrated success scaling paid search programs through testing and optimization
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving analytics, product, or engineering teams
Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Experience managing agency partners, external vendors, or mentoring internal performance marketers
Preferred
Experience in affiliate marketing, commerce media, lead generation, or consumer subscription businesses
Experience with landing page optimization and experimentation methodologies
Knowledge of conversion APIs, offline conversion uploads, and marketing measurement systems
Experience writing clear prompts in Claude to quickly draft ad copy, build database queries, and speed up daily tasks.
Familiarity with search automation, feed-based campaigns, and bidding strategy optimization
Experience working in highly matrixed or fast-paced technology/media organizations

The compensation for this position ranges from $105,750.00 - $220,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
