Implementation Services
As the Head of AMER Implementation Services, you will lead Atlassian's AMER Implementation Services team, responsible for delivering complex, high-impact SaaS implementations for our largest enterprise customers. You will drive operational excellence, scale delivery capabilities, and ensure customer success through best-in-class project management and professional services leadership. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of AMER Advisory Services, with accountability for team performance, customer outcomes, and the financial health of the implementation portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Vision
    • Develop and execute the global strategy for Implementation Services, aligning with Atlassian's business goals and customer needs.
    • Identify and launch new service offerings, methodologies, and best practices to drive customer adoption and value realization.
    • Serve as an executive sponsor for key accounts, building trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and ensuring alignment with their business objectives.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of implementation managers, architects, and consultants.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career development for team members.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of SaaS implementation projects, ensuring high-quality, on-time, and within-budget outcomes.
    • Implement and continuously improve project governance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
    • Drive adoption of standardized project management frameworks (e.g., Agile, PMP, ITIL) and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Financial & Portfolio Management
    • Own the P&L for the implementation services portfolio, including revenue forecasting, margin management, and resource utilization.
    • Monitor and report on key financial KPIs such as billable utilization, backlog, project profitability, and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver integrated customer solutions and drive business outcomes.
    • Lead change management initiatives to scale delivery capabilities and improve customer experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years in professional services, consulting, or SaaS implementation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale, billable services portfolios and teams.
  • SaaS Expertise: Deep background in SaaS architectures, integration methods, and security considerations; proven track record delivering complex SaaS implementations.
  • Project Management: Advanced knowledge of project management frameworks (PMP, Agile, ITIL); experience with custom Statement of Work (SOW) scoping and delivery.
  • Professional Services Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams; experience managing P&L and driving financial KPIs.
  • Customer Focus: Strong background in building and maintaining executive-level customer relationships, driving customer satisfaction, and delivering outcome-based solutions.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and present complex information clearly.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field required; Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, ITIL) preferred.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $180,000 - $235,000
Zone B: $162,000 - $211,500
Zone C: $149,400 - $195,050
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
