Collective is on a mission to redefine the way businesses-of-one work. Our technology and team of trusted advisors help members achieve financial independence by taking care of everything from business incorporation to accounting, bookkeeping, tax services, and access to a thriving community, all in one integrated platform. We believe in empowering self-employed people to enjoy the same tax savings that big companies get, so they can focus on their passion, not paperwork.

About the role:
This role will own Collective’s most critical organic growth channels - content marketing, organic social, SEO, lifecycle marketing, and community/events - and build them into a cohesive engine that educates, engages, and celebrates self-employed professionals. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll design frameworks that scale through AI and automation, while also driving measurable results in engagement, acquisition, and retention. You’ll shape the voice of Collective, elevate member stories, and position us as the definitive thought leader for businesses-of-one. In order to be successful you must be exceptional at executing yourself in addition to hiring & managing a team - our managers are IC’s as well.
What you'll do:
Industry Storytelling & Thought Leadership
- Develop Collective’s overarching narrative framework for the self-employed ecosystem and drive campaigns with growth and sales across the tax season/year
- Position Collective as the authoritative voice for businesses-of-one through thought leadership content creating campaigns and trends that drive solopreneur engagement.
- Identify and amplify trends, challenges, and opportunities shaping the self-employed space
Organic Social & SEO
- Own Collective’s organic social presence (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.) — developing voice, tone, and creative strategy
- Manage content calendars and ensure consistent publishing across platforms
- Partner with content team to repurpose long-form assets into short-form, engaging social content, and build AI-driven workflows with our engineering team
- Own SEO strategy and execution, including GEO, keyword planning, on-page optimization, and growth of search-driven acquisition channels
Content Marketing & Education
- Lead Collective’s content marketing engine across formats: blogs, long-form guides, case studies, podcasts, and webinars
- Establish frameworks for high-quality educational content that supports top-of-funnel awareness and nurtures leads
- Build scalable workflows for AI-assisted content creation
Lifecycle Marketing (Email & Automation)
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle marketing strategy, from lead nurture to member retention
- Build and optimize segmentation, personalization, and automation frameworks at scale
- Drive measurable improvements in engagement, conversion, reactivation, and retention through data-driven experimentation
- Partner with RevOps and Growth to design workflows, integrations, and automation systems (including AI-powered personalization)
Community & Events
- Own Collective’s community ecosystem, including online member forums and engagement programs
- Design and launch a multi-channel events strategy:
- Virtual series (webinars, office hours, workshops)
- Local meetups for members
What you'll bring:
- 6+ years in content, community, or lifecycle marketing roles with direct channel ownership (organic social, SEO, content marketing, lifecycle/email, community & events)
- Proven track record of building and scaling lifecycle marketing programs with advanced segmentation, personalization, and automation. Big plus if you have SFMC experience
- Strong comfort working with data at scale - from analyzing funnel conversion metrics to optimizing engagement and retention strategies. SQL experience is a plus.
- Exceptional storytelling and content creation skills across formats (long-form, short-form, video, case studies)
- Experience leading organic social and SEO strategies that drive measurable awareness and acquisition
- Demonstrated success in community building and event strategy (digital and/or in-person)
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority
Bonus points:
- Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make) to streamline marketing and community operations
- Background in fintech, SaaS, or creator/entrepreneurship industries
- Experience launching or scaling podcasts, webinars, or ambassador/recognition programs
- Strong knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs) and marketing automation platforms
What we offer:
- Remote-Friendly Environment: Flexibility to work from home while staying connected to the team
- Health & Wellness: $200 quarterly reimbursement to support your well-being
- Time Off: Flexible PTO plus 14 company holidays
- Comprehensive Coverage: 100% medical, dental, and vision for employees; 75% coverage for dependents
