As a Senior Software Engineering Manager leading Core Services and DevOps enablement capabilities, you will lead a team of engineers with a core mission to ensure rapid development of cutting edge technologies including AI. You will own the platform from end-to-end with a passion for operational excellence. You will drive the implementation of robust modern development practices and articulate what is necessary for the services you own to achieve stated operational goals (e.g. four 9s). Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing automation, improving system reliability, and safeguarding customer trust. You must be a proactive, results-driven leader who thrives in dynamic environments. You bring a security-first mindset, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to mentor and inspire high-performing teams.
What you’ll do:
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on delivering cutting-edge core service technology across cloud and hybrid environments while leveraging AI capabilities.
- Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle, ensuring timely deployment of produce features and enhancements across all components.
- Establish and enforce security baselines and compliance standards, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Monitor and analyze vulnerability metrics and ensure comprehensive Continuous Monitoring for compliance KPIs to drive continuous improvement, risk reduction, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with App Eng/IECO orgs including Monitoring, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to align on threat intelligence, audit requirements, and remediation strategies.
- Lead incident response efforts related to operational issues to ensure rapid response and resolution.
- Drive automation initiatives to streamline development, monitoring, and service stability.
- Provide technical leadership in the embedding of AI capabilities throughout the development lifecycle.
- Partner with Product Management and Application Engineering to align service offerings with product roadmaps and business goals.
- Manage 24/7 operations, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical software enablement services.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing across teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
What we’ll want you to have:
- 10+ years of leadership experience in software development, DevOps, or SRE roles, with experience managing geographically distributed teams
- Champion organizational changes and create an environment where people willingly participate in initiatives and programs.
- Experience leading enterprise software enablement services so as to function as a provider of tools, frameworks, core components, and dependencies to cross platform application teams.
- Experience with customer enablement in providing strategic integration of the management, support, and architecture of shared application services.
- Experience promulgating success criteria for the enterprise-wide adoption of shared application platforms and services and equipping teams with the necessary resources to ensure customer success.
- Experience with developer productivity engineering and providing key success metrics for the organization.
- Self-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently without the need to be micromanaged.
- Proven ability to identify and remove large obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team.
- Proven project management and customer service skills, demonstrated planning and organization skills.
- Possess highly effective collaboration skills and ability to operate access organizational disciplines.
- Have excellent verbal, written communication skills and strong formal presentation skills.
- Proven, hands-on experience implementing and managing software services in Azure/AWS, and with cloud platforms and container orchestration.
- Expert experience with DevSecOps principles and practices, infrastructure as code, and secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Availability for on-call support during critical incidents or high-impact events.
- Flexible and can adapt to any given situation with a calm demeanor.
- Innate ability to provide “extraordinary service” to end clients.

The starting base pay is $150,400.00 to $204,100.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.Benefits Include:
