About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Data Analysis (Fraud) will be part of Remitly's Identity & Trust Analytics Team reporting to Director, Risk Analytics. In this role, you will apply data science and analytical techniques to drive rapid, rational decision-making for Remitly's core products. You will understand internal fraud systems and develop risk mitigation, rules, product solutions and operational improvement. You'll contribute to product development while streamlining the experience for good customers by partnering with program and product managers, engineers, analysts, and designers. This is a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days a week at our Seattle, WA headquarters.

You Will:

  • Be a strategic partner to business, program and product teams to deliver on our goals and develop future strategies.
  • Lead a team of analysts and data scientists in London and USA.
  • Become an expert on Remitly's Payments Fraud (Scams, Chargebacks, Promo Abuse) data, experience, policy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create metrics to balance risk vs. reward, performance of systems and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with our cross-functional stakeholders and regional business managers to develop geography focused strategies.
  • Generate insights and help define & execute longer term product strategies and roadmaps across multiple product teams.
  • Work with data scientists and ML teams to build and evolve long term account valuation models.

You Have:

  • Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics, Maths, or a related discipline that blends quantitative and qualitative analysis. Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8+ years of analytics management experience, and at least 4 years of managing analysts.
  • Strong candidates will have managing teams delivering on end to end data experience from data aggregation, reporting,, analysis, experimentation.
  • Experience leading any type of analytics teams - business, operational, risk, fraud, marketing etc..
  • 6+ yrs of experience using SQL for analysis (Python, R, statistical analysis, and modeling a bonus) - ability to jump in and support the team technically.
  • Deep analytical expertise as you will be expected to coach and help your team in solving difficult and interesting problems.
  • Experience distilling business problems from discussions, developing hypotheses, building an analytical framework, carrying out an analysis, and writing a clear recommendation.
  • Excellent candidates will have a diverse set of skills ranging from analytics, basic statistics, integrative thinking, communication, team leadership, and judgment.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $152,000 - $190,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
