Overview: The Senior Manager, Audience Engagement's primary responsibilities will include the curation and optimization of Yahoo Sports and affiliate content, including articles, blogs, and video, within the desktop, mobile web, and app feeds. In addition, this individual will also be responsible for crafting and sending push notifications, or alerts, to different sports fan lists throughout their shifts, which will include nights and weekends.
The Individual should be well-versed in general sports and have knowledge of recent trends and news so that they can effectively and efficiently review different forms of content, including images, headlines, and copy, and understand how to package across platforms to entice fans to consume, engage, and return.
Position is remote or hybrid at select offices if desired (CA/NY)
Responsibilities
• Programming Yahoo Sports mobile and desktop platforms with a focus on promoting breaking news, analysis, commentary, and game-oriented content
• Identify and prioritize storylines in a fast-moving digital news environment
• Update featured game cards in the mobile app with notable developments.
• Quickly and accurately write and edit mobile notification headlines/teasers for the Yahoo Sports app
• Analyze data to identify trends, generate reports, and dictate coverage parameters
• Work with the Fantasy team to promote content and product initiatives, including live shows
• Support other Sports Editorial groups by assisting with social engagement and copy editing
Minimum Qualifications
• At least 7 years experience in sports media/journalism
• Professional experience in online and mobile programming/production, content curation, SEO, and copy editing, including all related software
• Keen eye for prioritizing content and spotting emerging trends and storylines on social media
• Sharp instinct for writing mobile- and social-friendly headlines required
• Strong news sense and AP style knowledge required
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to edit and program content within internal content-management systems.
• Familiarity working within mobile apps
• Strong knowledge of prominent sports: NFL, NBA, MLB, college football/basketball, NHL, and Fantasy sports
• Working nights and weekends required.

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
