Forward Financing is a financial technology company based in Boston, Massachusetts with team members throughout the United States, Dominican Republic, and Canada. The company is on a mission to unlock the capital that fuels small businesses across America. Recognized as a Best Place to Work by Built In Boston and certified as a Great Place To Work®, Forward is investing in its employees, technology, and customer experience – with long-term success in mind every step of the way.
We are looking for a Lifecycle/CRM Marketing Senior Specialist who wants to take real ownership of how Forward communicates with small businesses across their journey with us. You will be the engine behind our customer journeys that move entrepreneurs from their first touch with us to loyal customers that fund with us again and again. Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for building automation that scales, designing systems that hold up under growth, and using AI to do the work of a much larger team.
This role is for someone who genuinely loves the craft and thrives on building things that deliver impact and results — who follows HubSpot product updates closely, holds informed views on deliverability, and would rather build a better workflow than work around the existing one.
In the role you will:
Journey Architecture & Execution: Develop, deploy, and manage complex, trigger-based customer journeys and automated workflows within HubSpot to deliver tailored, 1:1 customer experiences.
AI-Native Operations: Treat AI as a core part of how the work gets done. Use AI to draft, personalize, segment, summarize, QA workflows, and surface insights more quickly than any team could manually. Pilot AI agents inside lifecycle touchpoints, evaluate new HubSpot AI features as they release, and bring back what proves valuable. The measure is not whether you used AI, but how much speed and quality it unlocked across your work.
Database Governance & Platform Health: Act as the steward for HubSpot data integrity. Implement automated data-cleaning processes, manage deduplication, oversee list hygiene, and manage the Salesforce/CRM integration sync and field mappings.
Compliance & Best Practices: Maintain adherence to communication regulations (TCPA, CAN-SPAM) and champion email/SMS deliverability and sender reputation best practices.
Data, Insights & Intelligence: Turn campaign performance into intelligence the business can act on. Build KPI reports that teams actually use. Surface meaningful trends early. Translate performance data into clear recommendations a leader can move on with confidence. The bar here is not reporting — it is intelligence that changes decisions.
Why You Should Apply:
High-Impact & Data-Driven Opportunity: See the direct results of your work. Your campaigns will directly contribute to unlocking capital for small businesses across America.
Mission-Driven Company: Forward is a trusted source of fast, flexible funding for small businesses that have often been underserved by traditional financing options.
Flexibility is a Top Priority: Our Employee Choice policy empowers you to choose where you work best—whether that’s from home, in the office, or a combination of both—with flexible hours.
Role Requirements:
4+ years of hands-on experience across Marketing Operations and Email/Lifecycle Marketing, ideally in high-growth FinTech, financial services, or alternative lending.
HubSpot expert. Advanced Workflows, Custom Objects, HubDB, Salesforce sync, and system mapping. HubSpot certifications strongly preferred.
AI fluency that shows up in your work. You can point to specific examples where AI meaningfully improved how quickly or how well you delivered — across content, analysis, operations, or all three.
Analytical depth. You are comfortable in the data and equally comfortable explaining what it means.
Problem-Solver: You don't just find broken processes; you love digging into the technical root cause and building scalable, automated solutions to fix them.Builder instinct. You pursue root causes rather than symptoms, and you leave behind systems other people can run.
Compensation:
Annual Targeted Salary: $125,000 – $145,000 USD
Annual Target Bonus: 10%

Total Rewards:

Forward is proud to be a remote-first company, keeping workplace flexibility a top priority for our employees. As a business, we are focused on impact; we are more concerned with your contributions to the success of the company than where you get your work done. To help facilitate in-person collaboration, employees are welcome to work from one of our premiere office locations. Please note: While we offer workplace flexibility, work outside of the employee's approved home country (including short-term international travel) is limited to a maximum of two consecutive weeks per occurrence due to tax and compliance regulations.
When we aren’t collaborating to drive business and support our customers, we’re finding virtual and in-person ways to get to know our colleagues, celebrate team wins, and have fun together!
Our Core Values:
Drive the Mission: We believe in financial opportunity for underserved small businesses. We say “yes” when others say “no.”
Keep It Real: We value direct communication, candid feedback, and authenticity. We are an open book.
