Your mission as a Senior Legal Counsel
We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d) to help Appinio sustain its rapid growth across English and Spanish-speaking markets while staying compliant and managing legal risks smartly. You will play a key role in enabling the business to expand confidently, supporting a wide range of commercial transactions and advising on regulatory developments. From negotiating strategic agreements to optimizing our legal operations, you will be a trusted partner across teams and regions.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive commercial contracting: you will draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements across English and Spanish-speaking markets, in particular Colombia and Mexico, Spain, the UK, and the US. This includes technology, supplier, partnership, and shareholder agreements. You will also support commercial agreements in other regions where Appinio operates.
- Support strategic transactions: you will participate in due diligences for M&A and joint ventures, and provide post-transaction legal support to ensure smooth integration and risk management
- Advise on commercial and regulatory matters: you will support commercial transactions and advise on legal risks across multiple markets, working with external counsel where specialist local advice is required.
- Partner with internal teams: you will collaborate with Product, IT Security, and Commercial teams to provide practical legal advice on new initiatives, products, and partnerships.
- Monitor and respond to regulatory change: you will stay ahead of developments in key areas such as AI regulation, IT security, and data privacy, and translate these into actionable advice for the business.
- Strengthen compliance and training: you will develop and update internal compliance policies, deliver legal training to commercial teams, and support group-wide initiatives on NDAs, liability, IP, and new regulations.
- Enhance legal operations: you will help streamline internal processes, evaluate and implement legal tech tools, and foster efficiency across the legal function.
You will thrive in this role if
- You have extensive experience in commercial contracting and negotiations across multiple jurisdictions, ideally including Spain, LATAM (Colombia and Mexico), the UK, and the US.
- You bring strong expertise in general commercial and corporate law, including supporting M&A, governance, and partnerships.
- You are confident in advising on cross-border legal risks and collaborating with external counsel and regulators.
- You have experience in compliance and regulatory monitoring, including data privacy, AI, and IT security.
- You are motivated by building and improving processes and enjoy leveraging technology to simplify workflows.
- You are proficient (C2 level) in both English and Spanish, with proven ability to negotiate, draft, and advise fluently on complex legal and business matters in both languages.
- You thrive in a fast-paced, international environment, balancing pragmatism with legal rigour to empower business growth.
