About SafeLease

At SafeLease, we're rethinking how P&C insurance is sold in an age of technological change. We believe the industry's biggest inefficiencies aren't technical problems — they're structural ones. And we're building the team to tackle them.

SafeLease is a profitable insurance business that designs, underwrites, and distributes specialty coverage for commercial property owners and their tenants. Most insurance companies either distribute products or bear the risk — we do both. We back our policies with our own capital, which means we control the full stack: product design, tech, and the speed at which we move. That end-to-end ownership lets us offer customers real flexibility, saving time and money for more than 4,000 properties insured for billions in value nationwide.

We're a team of 70, growing over 100% annually, and we've done it without sacrificing profitability or culture. Here, you'll get high discretion and a wide aperture of problems to solve. We embrace the newest technologies, move fast together, and operate with the intensity of a small company where every person's work is visible. If you're looking for a place to sharpen your craft alongside people who take their work seriously, you'll fit right in.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-driven Senior Insurance Forms Analyst to join our pricing team to own the language behind our insurance products across both commercial and personal lines. Where a pricing manager focuses on rating and risk selection, this role focuses on coverage intent, precision, and compliance in the words that make it into the policy. You will draft, refine, and maintain policy forms, endorsements, and manuscript wordings for both lines of business, and shepherd them through the regulatory filing process.

This role spans commercial and personal lines and is suited to someone who reads coverage the way an attorney reads a contract: alert to ambiguity, unintended coverage grants, and gaps. You will work closely with underwriting, product, legal, claims, and carrier partners to ensure our wordings are clear, defensible, competitive, and consistent across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Form & Endorsement Drafting

  • Draft, revise, and maintain base policy forms, endorsements, exclusions, definitions, and manuscript wordings for commercial lines products.

  • Translate underwriting and product intent into precise, unambiguous policy language that holds up at claim time.

  • Build and maintain a library of standardized clauses and reusable endorsement language to ensure consistency across both commercial and personal lines products.

Coverage Analysis & Product Support

  • Analyze coverage intent, identify unintended grants, gaps, and overlaps, and recommend wording changes to close them.

  • Compare our forms against ISO standard forms and competitor manuscript wordings to guide differentiation and coverage positioning.

  • Partner with product and underwriting to bring new coverages and product enhancements to market on the wording side.

Regulatory Filings & Compliance

  • Prepare and manage form filings with state departments of insurance, including submissions through SERFF, and track approvals and objections.

  • Ensure forms comply with admitted and non-admitted (E&S) requirements and company policy, conducting independent research of state statutes where required.

  • Coordinate with legal resources and carrier personnel to obtain necessary approvals for coverage and forms changes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with underwriting, claims, legal, and technology teams to align wording with operational reality and system configuration.

  • Advise claims on coverage interpretation and feed lessons from claims disputes back into wording improvements.

  • Support sales and underwriting with clear explanations of coverage grants, conditions, and exclusions.

Governance & Maintenance

  • Maintain version control, edition dating, and documentation for all forms and endorsements across the portfolio.

  • Monitor regulatory change, case law, and emerging exposures, and update wordings proactively to manage coverage and litigation risk.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, English, Legal Studies, or a related field, or a JD. Relevant experience and demonstrated skills can substitute for formal education.

  • Experience: 3+ years drafting or managing commercial lines policy forms, endorsements, or coverage wordings, or comparable insurance coverage/legal experience.

  • Domain: Strong grasp of both commercial and personal lines

  • coverages, ISO forms, manuscript wordings, and policy construction. E&S / non-admitted experience is a plus.

  • Regulatory: Familiarity with state filing processes and SERFF; understanding of admitted and non-admitted regulatory requirements.

  • Drafting: Exceptional written precision, with the ability to spot ambiguity, unintended coverage, and gaps in policy language.

  • Credentials: Insurance designations such as CPCU, or a legal background in insurance coverage, are a plus.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across underwriting, legal, and claims.

  • Execution: Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage many forms, editions, and filings in parallel.
