About the Role

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will be the dedicated people partner for Dyson’s New Product Development (NPD) employees in Malaysia. Reporting into Global HR Director, you will work closely with NPD leaders, engineering managers, and the Global and site HR leadership team to enable innovation, delivery, and organisational effectiveness.

This role sits in a innovative engineering environment, where workforce agility, capability building, and leadership effectiveness are critical. You will shape and deliver people strategies that support the full NPD lifecycle—from early concept and ramp‑up, through scale, transitions, and change.

You will operate with strong site presence, balancing strategic talent & operations, with hands‑on HR partnership with the global HR team. You will ensure the NPD organisation has the capability, structure, and culture to deliver at speed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with NPD, engineering, and technical leaders to deliver people strategies aligned with innovation, delivery timelines, and capability needs.

  • Works in close collaboration with the Site HR team to ensure joined‑up HR delivery and strong support for the relevant stakeholder and employee population.

  • Support leaders through organisational change, growth, and transition as products move through development milestones.

  • Support organisation design, team structures, and workforce planning across NPD team

  • Lead people initiatives focused on attracting, developing, and retaining highly specialised engineering and technical talent.

  • Use people data and workforce insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the NPD population.

  • Drive succession planning, critical role identification, and capability development for key technical and leadership positions.

  • Advise on performance management, reward, promotions, and recognition aligned to NPD contribution and impact.

  • Manage employee relations matters with sound judgement, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.

  • Champion Dyson’s culture, values, and collaborative ways of working within the NPD community.

  • Act as the senior HR point of contact for the NPD population, ensuring seamless HR service delivery across the employee lifecycle.

About You
You are a seasoned HR Business Partner preferably with experience supporting engineering, R&D, or NPD organisations. You thrive in fast‑changing, high‑expectation environments and understand how to enable highly skilled technical talent to perform at their best. Credible, commercially minded, and pragmatic, you influence senior technical leaders through insight, trust, and decisive execution—even in ambiguity.

You will bring:

  • About 8+  years of HR experience. preferred proven experience partnering with tech, engineering, R&D, or NPD organisations in a site‑based or complex matrix environment.

  • A solid understanding of Malaysian employment legislation and employee relations practices.

  • Experience supporting organisations through change, and transition across different development phases.

  • A data‑driven, pragmatic approach with strong stakeholder management skills.

  • A passion for building high‑performing, inclusive teams that value innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
