Job Description:
The Lead HR Business Partner is responsible for providing HR Support for assigned business groups with a focus on associate relations, performance management and associate development, and staffing. This role will act as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to leaders, aligning HR strategies with business objectives.
Essential Duties:
Act as an internal consultant to leaders and managers, build trust, provide coaching and advice on a range of organizational and change issues.
Deliver HR policies and practices aligned to both the needs of the business and the associate population with minimal guidance.
Provide sound judgment in associate relation matters for CNG and leadership; create associate engagement initiatives to attract, retain, and motivate staff; responsible for maintaining positive relationship within work environment.
Lead complex or sensitive investigations, ensuring fairness, consistency, thorough documentation and resolution.
Apply associate relations expertise to identify trends, gaps, and challenges, execute solution-focused strategies and consultative coaching that mitigate risks, drive accountability, and advance a respectful, high-performance culture.
Support business in simplification efforts; ensure organization structure aligns with business needs; act as change agent in support of business needs.
Work with managers to effectively diagnose organizational issues and partner to solve them.
Drive and facilitate the overall Performance and Talent Management process for CNG.
Drive change by challenging leaders to consider alternative solutions and think progressively to influence a high-performance culture.
Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment activity for client groups including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
Analyze Human Resources metrics to recognize trends and work with business partners to address opportunities; be data driven.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, escalating high-risk matters to senior leadership and legal counsel as appropriate.
Manage assigned projects.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors’ degree in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in the Human Resources function, specifically with associate relations and employment law
Proven ability to lead, influence, and drive strategic initiatives with Business Leaders
Experience developing and implementing associate relations plans that drive high levels of motivation across widespread associate
Extensive experience partnering with Business Leaders on talent management and coaching leadership skill sets
Expertise in organizational development, change management, associate engagement, associate relations, and performance management
Experience with the practical application of HR policies + practices
A track record of managing ambiguity and changing priorities to deliver high performance
Outstanding organization skills, with the ability to lead and gather information from cross-functional teams both within HR and across the business
Strong influencing skills and the ability to drive change across a complex organization structure
Ability to relate your work with business outcomes and how work aligns across business functions
Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
