Position Profile

We are seeking a Senior Functional Consultant with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations & Customer Engagement (CE) to join our growing Dynamics team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can translate complex business requirements into scalable D365 solutions, lead functional design across the project lifecycle, and serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients.

As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will play a key role in solution design, stakeholder engagement, delivery leadership, and mentoring junior consultants, while ensuring best practices across Dynamics 365 CE and Project Operations implementations.

Key Responsibilities: 

Solution Design & Functional Leadership 

  • Lead functional design for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Project Operations implementations across industries
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, solution architecture, and configuration designs
  • Design end-to-end business processes across:
    • Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing
    • Project Operations (resource management, project planning, time & expense, billing, revenue recognition)
    • Integration with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Power Platform
  • Define data models, security roles, workflows, and automation strategies

Client Engagement & Delivery 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Facilitate workshops, process mapping sessions, and solution walkthroughs
  • Provide leadership across discovery, design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare phases
  • Manage functional scope, risks, and dependencies in collaboration with technical and project management teams

Configuration & Platform Expertise 

  • Configure Dynamics 365 CE and Project Operations modules, including:
    • Dataverse
    • Model-driven apps
    • Business process flows
    • Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Define integration requirements with Microsoft ecosystem tools (Azure, Teams, Outlook, Power BI)
  • Support UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution

Governance & Best Practices 

  • Establish functional standards, documentation templates, and delivery frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with Microsoft best practices and industry standards
  • Contribute to solution demonstrations and proposal development

Mentorship & Practice Growth 

  • Mentor junior consultants and business analysts
  • Contribute to internal IP, accelerators, and reusable assets
  • Support practice growth through thought leadership and client success stories

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:

  • 6–10+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Project Operations
  • Proven track record delivering complex enterprise D365 implementations
  • Experience with professional services, project-based organizations, or PSA solutions
  • Strong experience integrating D365 CE with Finance & Operations or ERP systems
  • Deep understanding of:
    • lead-to-cash and opportunity-to-project processes
    • project lifecycle management 
    • resource scheduling and capacity planning
    • time & expense, billing, and revenue recognition
    • customer engagement workflows 
  • Strong business process modeling and requirements engineering skills
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence solution direction at both business and technical levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience leading workshops and presenting to executive audiences

Additionally, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant certifications (e.g., MB-210, MB-230, MB-700)
  • Power Platform certifications (PL-200, PL-400)
  • PMP, Agile, or SAFe certifications
  • Dataverse, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, PowerBI)
  • Security, data migration, and integration patterns
  • Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies

A reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. In addition to compensation packages, Weaver offers competitive health benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
