The Role

We're seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our core product team. Reporting directly to the CTO and working alongside our other full-stack engineers, you'll build features across our mobile app and backend systems that directly impact how hundreds of thousands of users manage their financial lives.

  • Build complex mobile experiences in React Native/Expo for iOS and Android

  • Design and implement scalable backend APIs handling financial transactions and sensitive user data

  • Architect database schemas and queries for high-performance financial data operations

  • Integrate with third-party services (e.g., Stripe, AI services)

  • Optimize application performance and user experience at scale

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new features, improvements, and bug fixes for the MaxRewards mobile app using React Native and Expo

  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express

  • Design MongoDB schemas and implement efficient database queries

  • Write clean, maintainable code with proper testing and documentation

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical architecture decisions

  • Deploy and monitor applications on AWS infrastructure

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience with React Native and modern mobile development

  • 2+ years of professional experience with Node.js and building REST APIs

  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks

  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)

  • Experience building secure applications that handle sensitive user data

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Expo and React Native development best practices

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Experience at early-stage startups or high-growth companies

  • Interest in personal finances, credit cards, or travel hacking

Key Attributes for Success
  • Product-minded: Think about member experience and business impact, not just code

  • Self-starter: Take ownership of features from concept to deployment

  • Quality-focused: Write maintainable code with appropriate testing

  • Fast learner: Quickly adapt to new technologies and problem domains

  • Strong bias toward action: Balance quality with shipping and iterating

  • Collaborative: Work effectively with small teams and contribute to technical discussions

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: $120K–$160K base + 0.1%–0.5% equity

  • Excellent benefits: Up to 100% employer-paid health/dental/vision insurance

  • 401(k) with 100% match up to 6% after 1 year of employment

  • Opportunity to shape product direction as part of a small team

  • Direct impact on 700K+ members' financial outcomes

  • Work on cutting-edge features with modern tech stack

If you're passionate about building elegant mobile experiences, excited about fintech innovation, and want to make a massive impact at a high-growth startup, we'd love to hear from you!
