Job Description:

Role Summary 

We are seeking a Commercial FP&A Partner to act as the financial lead across DTN’s core sectors (Ag, Energy, and Weather). This role sits at the intersection of finance and commercial strategy, owning sector performance, contribution margin delivery, and forward-looking financial insight. 

You will partner closely with senior business leaders to translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable decisions that support growth, profitability, and long-term value creation. This is a high-impact role for someone who combines strong financial acumen with commercial curiosity and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Business Partnering & Sector Performance 

  • Act as the primary finance partner to sector leadership teams, providing clear visibility on performance across revenue, cost, and margin  

  • Lead regular performance reviews, focusing on forward-looking insights and ensuring discussions drive decisions and accountability  

  • Maintain a rolling outlook on sector performance, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and recommending actions  

 

Commercial Insight & Product Economics 

  • Develop a strong understanding of DTN’s products, customers, and end markets to link operational performance with financial outcomes  

  • Support the financial evaluation of product initiatives, pricing strategies, and commercial investments  

  • Build and maintain forward-looking scenarios (base, upside, downside), clearly articulating risks and opportunities  

 

Decision Support & Strategic Finance 

  • Provide clear, concise recommendations to support investment decisions and performance improvement  

  • Ensure financial insights are actionable, relevant, and aligned to business priorities  

 

What Success Looks Like 

  • Financial insights consistently influence business decisions  

  • Sector performance is clearly understood, with risks and opportunities identified early  

  • Forecasts are credible, transparent, and linked to underlying commercial drivers  

  • Strong, trusted relationships are built across Finance, Sales, Product, and Leadership teams  

 

Collaboration 

  • Work closely with thr business leaders for each of the Core sectors  

  • Partner with central FP&A on cost, headcount, and long-range planning  

  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, and Customer Success to ensure alignment between financial plans and operational execution  

 

About You 

  • Strong FP&A or commercial finance experience, ideally within a SaaS or data-driven business  

  • Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making  

  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to translate data into insight  

  • Commercially curious, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment  

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $83,000 and $113,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
