The Senior Financial Analyst / Deputy Program Manager serves as a key member of the contract leadership team and is responsible for supporting the administrative, financial, and operational management of the program. This role works closely with the Program Manager to ensure contract deliverables, financial reporting, staffing coordination, and customer support activities are completed accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently supporting contract operations while serving as the secondary point of contact in the absence of the Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Operations
- Support day-to-day contract administration and operational activities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of contract requirements, staffing structure, deliverables, and customer support operations.
- Serve as the Deputy Program Manager and act as a secondary point of contact when the Program Manager is unavailable.
- Assist with onboarding, staffing changes, personnel tracking, and administrative coordination.
- Maintain familiarity with contract documentation, processes, reporting requirements, and operational workflows.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain Monthly Financial Reports (MFRs), funding trackers, burn rate analysis, and financial projections.
- Analyze contract financial data to support customer requests, leadership reporting, and program management decisions.
- Utilize Excel and other reporting tools to develop accurate financial models, forecasts, and trend analysis.
- Maintain familiarity with bill rates, labor categories, funding status, and contract financial data sources.
- Ensure all financial reporting is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
Deliverables & Customer Support
- Manage recurring contract deliverables including status reports, financial reports, staffing updates, and customer action items.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather required data and ensure deliverable accuracy.
- Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Review work products for quality and completeness prior to submission.
- Proactively identify issues, risks, or gaps and communicate them to leadership.
Leadership & Communication
- Maintain close coordination with the Program Manager on all contract activities.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in customer meetings, internal coordination calls, and leadership discussions.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional communication with both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Management, or related field.
- Experience supporting federal contracts, program management, or financial operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, reporting, and financial analysis.
- Experience preparing financial reports, projections, and contract deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Secret Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government customers or federal contracts.
- Familiarity with contract funding management, labor tracking, and financial forecasting.
- Experience supporting Program Managers or serving in a deputy leadership role.
- Advanced Excel or data analysis experience.
- PMP certification or project/program management experience.
