What the Role Is
Babylist is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to support high-impact strategic initiatives across M&A, corporate development, fundraising, and internal corporate finance.This role is primarily focused on corporate development and M&A, with FP&A responsibilities flexing based on deal activity and business needs. You’ll operate as an internal deal lead — evaluating acquisition opportunities, owning diligence workstreams, and building financial models that inform senior leadership decisions — while also partnering on forecasting, reporting, and long-range planning.
This is an ideal role for someone with 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategic finance who wants broad exposure, high ownership, and the opportunity to directly shape Babylist’s growth trajectory.This role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Development & Director of Corporate Finance and works closely with senior leaders across the company.
Who You Are
- 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategic finance
(Candidates coming directly from investment banking are encouraged to apply, even with ~2 years of experience) - Advanced Excel financial modeling skills, including clean model architecture, scenario analysis, and sensitivities
- Strong business and conceptual problem-solving skills — ability to translate how a business works into a structured financial model, even with limited information
- Ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for senior executives
- High ownership, strong judgment, and comfort managing multiple workstreams with tight timelines
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and comfort building polished, executive-facing presentations
- Experience supporting or executing an M&A or fundraising process (data rooms, diligence coordination, investor materials)
- Familiarity with SQL and/or BI tools (e.g., Looker, Mode)
- Experience analyzing cohort-based, funnel-based, or marketplace-style business models
- Background in consumer internet, ecommerce, marketplaces, or subscription-like businesses
How You Will Make An Impact
Corporate Development & M&A
- Identify and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities in partnership with senior leadership
- Build and maintain financial models, including three-statement operating models, valuation analyses (DCF, comps, precedent transactions), and deal return frameworks
- Lead or support end-to-end diligence processes across financial, operational, customer, product, and legal workstreams
- Synthesize complex analyses into clear, data-driven investment memos and executive readouts, including risks, mitigants, and integration considerations
- Coordinate deal process management, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration
- Quarterback key elements of a financing process: tracking diligence requests, preparing materials, and managing data room readiness
- Draft and iterate investor presentations in partnership with leadership
- Analyze key business and financial metrics (growth, margins, cohort performance, LTV/CAC, retention, funnel conversion, etc.)
- Support leadership in preparing for investor conversations and Q&A
- Build, update, and maintain the company’s operating model and forecasts on a monthly and quarterly cadence
- Own and continuously improve core reporting and forecasting processes
- Produce executive-ready materials for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs / QBRs), including insights, narratives, and visuals
- Partner with functional leaders across Marketing, Product, Operations, and People on planning, budgeting, and performance management
- Leverage internal systems and tools (e.g., planning systems, general ledger data) to analyze performance and inform decision-making

About Compensation
We use a market-based approach to compensation. The starting salary range for this role is:
$116,864 to $140,270
Your starting salary will be based on your location, experience, and qualifications, with increases over time tied to performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.
