The senior analyst is a trusted advisor who uses business analytics to understand the ministry drivers and make recommendations to management. Further, she or he prepares annual budgets, generates periodic forecasts, and analyzes trends in revenues, expenses, currency variations, and other business areas. The experienced analyst is also responsible for researching and reporting economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning. At this career level, this analyst provides leadership and individual expertise in conducting major financial analyses for important issues. Using this high level of expertise, the analyst creates financial models of complex "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new marketing programs and alternate ministry models. He or she often coaches and oversees the work of other analysts and related staff.

This senior analyst serves as a key business partner that ensures financial viability and accountability is built into all programs and processes at Compassion.
The incumbent prepares the annual budget or a segment of the budget, for major clients or assigned work groups. He or she gathers input from all stakeholders, organizes and analyzes the data, and prepares it for approval and administration. The analysts needs to be adaptable to the changing environments of the ministry and guide their partners through the current financial realities.
This senior professional analyst conducts detailed research and stays abreast of global economic trends and applies this knowledge to ongoing projects and processes as well as updating management and colleagues to assure successful and effective financial planning.
Leading ad hoc and regular finance teams, the analyst consults with all clients to create and publish data reports, providing detailed analytics that influence decisions to help the ministry operate more effectively. Ensuring extreme accuracy, consistency, and timeliness is a key component of this requirement.
The incumbent works individually and cross-functionally on teams to conduct financial analysis projects such as creating financial models of "what if" scenarios to influence future planning decisions in areas like new marketing programs, alternate ministry strategies, etc. The analyst needs to convey the information in a way that tells a story to non-finance leaders.
The senior analyst evaluates and analyzes major issues involving capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, operating records, and financial statements.
As a primary and key contributor to Finance systems, , this analyst can use our tools to research, analysis, and validation, while consulting with Finance management to ensure data accuracy across Finance systems and with the library.
The incumbent frequently coaches and oversees the work of other financial analysts and related staff.
What do you bring?
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Ten years relevant experience working in this or a related field.
Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.
