Job Description:

   

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager / Product Lifecycle (PLM) Program Manager to provide end-to-end ownership of complex, cross-functional programs across the product lifecycle—from concept through release, sustaining, and end-of-life. This role is responsible for driving execution excellence by building and managing integrated schedules, aligning dependencies across engineering and partner teams, enforcing PDLC governance, and ensuring delivery commitments are achieved on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of engineering program/project management experience, including 5+ years working in Agile environments, with deep hands-on expertise in Jira (2+ years) and Smartsheet (2+ years). The successful candidate has a proven ability to lead executive communications, proactively manage risks and dependencies, facilitate milestone readiness, and drive cross-functional alignment across Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and external partners. Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and structured problem-solving skills are essential for removing roadblocks and delivering successful business outcomes.

Provides support and/or leads teams through the engineering development process and implementation of the company’s products. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex, and more contained with a defined timeframe. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project efforts with complex requirements and dependencies. Requires 6+ years of hands-on program/project management experience managing execution activities, resource planning, integrated schedules, budgets, and cross-functional communications to ensure successful product delivery on schedule and within budget. Requires demonstrated experience (4+ years) driving program execution through formal governance, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, and improving execution efficiency in partnership with engineering leadership.

For qualified candidates in the continental United States who are U.S. citizens, we may be open to considering locations outside of those listed on the requisition, but preference is for on-site at one of the locations listed below 2+ days a week.

Applies advanced subject matter expertise to solve complex business challenges and is recognized as a trusted subject matter expert. Typically requires 6+ years of experience, including 5+ years partnering directly with engineering and cross-functional program teams, and 4+ years influencing delivery commitments and outcomes with senior stakeholders. Exercises significant independent judgment in determining the best methods for achieving business objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring while contributing to cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads complex programs involving multiple functions and project teams to drive engineering development and product implementation, typically requiring 5+ years of experience coordinating cross-functional execution.
  • Develops and oversees integrated schedules, critical milestones, budgets, resource plans, and supporting deliverables for assigned programs; requires 4+ years of schedule ownership ensuring milestones and timelines are achieved.
  • Manages the activities of project teams and internal development partners; monitors progress against established plans, analyzes execution metrics, and adjusts schedules or resource allocations to meet product objectives and delivery commitments; requires 4+ years of experience driving recovery plans for at-risk milestones.
  • Communicates program progress, risks, escalations, and issue analysis to stakeholders; collaborates with leadership, manufacturing, and engineering partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices that resolve issues and maintain alignment with budgets, roadmaps, and schedules; requires 4+ years presenting program status, risks, and trade-offs to senior management.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies, tools, and quality initiatives across engineering and manufacturing organizations; requires 4+ years contributing to measurable process improvements, including improved predictability, reduced cycle time, and increased on-time delivery.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to less-experienced team members; typically 2+ years of informal or formal leadership responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 6+ years of experience in program/project management, engineering program management, or technical program management.
  • 5+ years working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid) supporting engineering delivery.
  • 5+ years owning product release execution across the product lifecycle.
  • 5+ years coordinating cross-functional execution across engineering organizations.
  • 5+ years partnering directly with engineering and cross-functional program teams.
  • 4+ years influencing delivery commitments and outcomes with senior stakeholders.
  • 4+ years driving program execution using formal governance, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, and improving execution efficiency in partnership with engineering leadership.
  • 4+ years of extensive experience using project and program planning tools to create, manage, and track execution (e.g., Jira and Smartsheet).
  • 4+ years owning integrated schedules and ensuring milestone achievement.
  • 4+ years developing and executing recovery plans for delayed milestones.
  • 4+ years operating effectively with senior-level stakeholders.
  • 4+ years presenting program status, risks, mitigation strategies, and trade-offs to senior leadership.
  • 4+ years delivering measurable process improvements, such as increased predictability, reduced cycle time, or improved on-time delivery.
  • 4+ years Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with leveraging execution metrics and data-driven insights to drive corrective actions.
  • 4+ years demonstrated Business acumen with successfully managing program scope, schedule, budget, resources, stakeholder communications, and matrixed teams.
  • 4+ years operating at the senior stakeholder level. Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, execution status, and results while negotiating priorities and trade-offs with senior leadership.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using Jira for program execution tracking, workflow management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using Smartsheet to develop and maintain integrated schedules, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • 2+ years of formal or informal leadership and mentoring responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • PMP/PMI-ACP certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with mastery of English and the local language.
