Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Engineer/Program Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Water Sector Manager, Mid-Atlantic and key staff to identify and pursue projects, prepare proposals, manage client relationships. You will serve as a Senior Project Manager/Program Manager on water-related projects, taking on financial, staffing, scope, and schedule management responsibilities. Additionally, you will lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring project quality and supporting staff development.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Lead project execution for successful project delivery and client satisfaction, including financial management, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing.
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager/Program Manager on projects where beneficial to the Company and the project; and assume the financial, staffing, scope, and schedule management responsibilities of that role.
  • Serve as key technical lead in planning/design/construction of water-related projects Work with the Sector Manager and key management personnel to identify and pursue projects.
  • Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary project teams, including subconsultants Prepare project proposals for water clients.
  • Client contact and communication. Managing Client expectations and assuring client satisfaction related to the project.
  • Directs the preparation, tracking, and submission of the project deliverables.
  • Preparation and tracking of project schedules, work tasks, and delivery of projects on time and within budget.
  • Tracking of additional services and out-of-scope work. Communication with clients, negotiation of fees for additional services, and delivery of contract modifications for such services.
  • Lead and mentor junior team members.
  • Responsible for project quality. Assures QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
  • Support in staff development, including Project Manager training.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, DC and/or Virginia. 
  • 15+ years of experience in Project Management activities and managing teams.
  • Project Management Procedures (PMP’s) and Project Management Guidelines (PMG’s) familiarity a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written and presentation skills are required.
  • Client-focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
