A Brief Overview
RGA is seeking senior-level Emerging Markets credit analyst to provide primary coverage for following sovereign, corporate and quasi-sovereign credits domiciled in Emerging Markets. This is a senior-level hire for the Emerging Markets investment team, with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility for investment recommendations to be implemented subject to portfolio constraints and RGA’s risk management framework. The hire should be able to demonstrate seasoned and sophisticated expertise in fundamental analysis along with intimate knowledge of capital markets. The job will have primary reporting to the head of Emerging Markets Debt, based in St. Louis Missouri.
What you will do

  • Undertake sophisticated fundamental-driven credit analysis on a portfolio of financial and non-financial names across multiple Emerging Market jurisdictions on an independent basis, with full responsibility for assigned sectors and regions.
  • Evaluate issuer creditworthiness and make investment recommendations including buy, sell, hold decisions supported by timely, detailed, insightful and well-articulated analysis that reflects risk-reward parameters appropriate to RGA's balance sheet.
  • Demonstrate extensive financial modeling capabilities including the ability to model and explain earnings and balance sheet expectations as well as ratings trajectories for financial and non-financial issuers and sovereigns under primary coverage.
  • Provide leadership in advocating for uniform application of RGA's credit culture in all applicable interactions within the credit department, investment department and company as a whole. Provide leadership in the development and mentoring of junior analysts.
  • Communicate investment recommendations and ideas in written form supported by clear, concise and compelling oral presentations. Provide frequent, organized and well-articulated updates and investment recommendations orally and in writing.
  • Understand complicated nuances of regulatory frameworks for multiple industry sectors in various countries and regions, maintaining detailed and current knowledge of credit securities pricing and relative value with conviction in valuation views.
  • Proactively develop and maintain productive relationships with company management, sell-side analysts, rating agencies, other buy-side investors and country and industry experts to further knowledge and inform investment recommendations.
  • Undertake sector and portfolio analysis to facilitate reporting risk analysis, and other ad-hoc tasks assigned by portfolio managers, traders or senior credit analysts in the UK, Asia and US.
  • Be an active contributor in investment discussions and contribute towards credit team's sector outlook while proactively promoting ideas for process improvement.
  • Develop strong relationships with other analysts, portfolio managers and traders in the UK, Asia and US while contributing to multiple group-wide projects in addition to coverage responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelors with 10+ years experience, which includes 6+ years relevant Emerging Markets work experience

OR

  • MBA or CFA with 7+ years experience, which includes 6+ years relevant Emerging Markets work experience

Preferred:

  • CFA
  • Experience with Bloomberg and Blackrock
  • Lived experience in an emerging market

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to develop strong and effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders both locally and internationally

Compensation Range:

$150,770.00 - $224,640.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
