Join us as we build the world’s leading Bitcoin and digital infrastructure platform, now expanding into large-scale data centers for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI clients, and help shape the future of digital assets and advanced computing.

About the role

Riot Data Centers (a Riot Platforms company) is expanding our footprint into hyperscale data centers for AI and HPC clients, and we’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to help shape the future of digital infrastructure.

This is your chance to work on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of energy, data, and innovation—alongside a team that’s redefining what’s possible in the digital age.

As our Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be the technical authority for power systems across Riot’s hyperscale data centers. You’ll lead design standards, review consultant deliverables, and ensure world-class reliability for mission-critical workloads.

This position will be based in our Denver office with travel up to 25% for site visits, consultant meetings, and technical assessments. Relocation assistance available for non-local candidates.

What You'll Do

  • Set and enforce electrical design standards and specifications
  • Review and approve consultant and contractor electrical designs
  • Oversee UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and distribution
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and industry best practices
  • Lead QA/QC protocols and technical audits
  • Approve commissioning plans and test procedures
  • Mentor engineers and represent electrical discipline in executive forums

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (P.E. preferred)
  • 8+ years in electrical engineering, ideally with experience in mission critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, manufacturing plants, or other high-reliability environments)
  • Proven experience managing $50M+ projects and consultant relationships
  • Deep expertise in UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and PDUs
  • Strong command of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE codes and standards
  • Advanced proficiency in ETAP or SKM PowerTools
  • Experience with AI deployments and LTC (liquid to chip) cooling is a plus, but not required

Why Join Riot?

  • Be part of a fast-growing startup backed by Riot Platforms
  • Work on high-impact projects in AI, HPC, and Bitcoin infrastructure
  • Collaborate with top-tier engineers and innovators
  • Enjoy a fun, fast-paced culture with real growth opportunities

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range $140,000-180,000 commensurate with experience
  • Eligible for annual discretionary bonuses
  • Eligible for initial equity compensation & participation in long term equity incentive programs
  • Relocation assistance available
  • 401k plan with company matching & immediate vesting
  • Great medical, vision, and dental plans to choose from
  • Company paid Long-term and Short-term disability Insurance
  • Additional benefit options (Pet Insurance, Free Gym Memberships, Child care discounts and more)
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Generous PTO and Paid Holidays
  • A fun company culture with tremendous growth opportunities!
