Job Summary
The Senior Director, Supply Chain provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for supply chain functions across assigned facilities, regions, or organizational areas. This role is responsible for advancing supply chain performance through effective supply expense management, contract optimization, clinical integration, and operational standardization. The Senior Director, Supply Chain partners with hospital leadership, corporate supply chain functions, and clinical stakeholders to drive enterprise initiatives that improve operational efficiency, strengthen financial performance, and support high-quality patient care. This role also provides leadership to supply chain teams and fosters a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements supply chain strategies that align with organizational goals to optimize supply expense management, operational efficiency, and supply chain performance.
  • Partners with hospital leadership, regional executives, corporate supply chain teams, and clinical stakeholders to support enterprise supply chain initiatives and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leads supply expense management activities, including monitoring performance trends, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, and supporting strategic financial planning efforts.
  • Oversees supply chain operations within assigned areas, including procurement, inventory management, materials management processes, and related operational controls.
  • Drives contract compliance and value analysis initiatives to improve product utilization, support standardization efforts, and enhance overall supply chain value.
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to implement supply utilization strategies and supply chain programs that support quality care delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Monitors key performance indicators related to supply expense, contract performance, and operational efficiency, and implements corrective actions as needed to achieve performance goals.
  • Provides leadership and direction to supply chain employees, supporting workforce development, performance management, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leads supply chain planning and project initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and successful implementation of operational improvements.
  • Partners with hospital and corporate leadership to support capital planning and procurement strategies that align with operational needs and financial objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • Travel up to 40% required.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Administration, Management, or related field required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • More than 10 years of progressive experience in hospital supply chain operations required
  • Experience leading supply chain strategy, operational improvement initiatives, and cross-functional programs in complex healthcare environments required
  • Experience leading teams and managing organizational change initiatives preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, value analysis, and contract management practices.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to analyze supply expense performance and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, clinical stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills with the ability to translate organizational objectives into operational supply chain initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience developing teams, leading change, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
