The Senior Director, Strategic IT Partner, Revenue is responsible for the technology agenda supporting the company’s Revenue function, which includes the Sales and Marketing organizations. Reporting directly to the CIO, this leader acts as the primary senior technology partner to the Chief Revenue Officer and other Revenue leadership, developing a deep understanding of commercial strategy, customer engagement, sales execution and marketing priorities and translating these into technology strategies, roadmaps and investment plans.

The role is fundamentally focused on business outcomes. The Senior Director will identify where technology can improve revenue growth, sales productivity, customer experience, marketing effectiveness, commercial decision-making and operating efficiency. This requires the ability to challenge existing processes, identify new opportunities and connect business priorities with appropriate technology capabilities.

The Senior Director leads teams responsible for selected applications and business solutions supporting Revenue, together with associated product management, functional expertise and delivery capabilities. However, major shared capabilities—including ERP and enterprise platforms, Information Security, Infrastructure & Operations, and AI & Data—are provided through specialist teams. The Senior Director is accountable for bringing these capabilities together into effective end-to-end solutions and ensuring clear accountability for business value and adoption.

The role will develop and manage a multi-year Revenue technology roadmap, balancing strategic transformation with continual improvement of existing capabilities. Particular emphasis will be placed on simplification, standardization, automation, data and AI, and reducing unnecessary technology complexity.

Success requires an individual who can operate equally effectively with senior commercial executives and technology specialists, combining strong business acumen with sufficient technology depth to shape decisions and challenge assumptions.

As a member of the CIO’s senior leadership team, the Senior Director will also contribute to broader Technology strategy, investment priorities, transformation, talent and organizational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior technology partner to Diebold Nixdorf executive leaders across the Revenue function.

  • Develop a deep understanding of Revenue strategy, commercial priorities, operating models and business challenges.

  • Translate business strategy into technology strategies, multi-year roadmaps and prioritized investment plans.

  • Identify opportunities for technology to accelerate revenue growth, improve customer engagement and increase sales and marketing effectiveness.

  • Own the portfolio of business solutions and applications assigned to the Revenue technology organization.

  • Establish clear product and solution ownership across the portfolio.

  • Maintain end-to-end accountability for technology-enabled business outcomes, even where underlying capabilities are delivered by shared Technology teams.

  • Lead business analysis, functional solution design, product management and delivery capabilities within the organization.

  • Shape and challenge technology demand to ensure investment is focused on the highest-value opportunities.

  • Partner with ERP & Platforms teams where Revenue solutions require core enterprise platform capabilities.

  • Partner with AI & Data teams to improve commercial analytics, decision-making, automation and adoption of artificial intelligence.

  • Identify practical opportunities to apply AI to areas such as sales effectiveness, customer insights, marketing productivity and commercial processes.

  • Partner with Information Security to ensure solutions appropriately manage security, privacy and technology risk.

  • Partner with Infrastructure & Operations to ensure solutions are resilient, performant and operationally sustainable.

  • Drive simplification, standardization and rationalization across the Revenue application landscape.

  • Reduce unnecessary customization, application duplication and technical debt.

  • Promote reuse of enterprise capabilities and common platforms wherever appropriate.

  • Lead technology-enabled transformation across the Revenue function.

  • Ensure programs deliver measurable business outcomes, user adoption and sustainable benefits.

  • Establish effective demand, roadmap, portfolio and value-realization governance with Revenue leadership.

  • Maintain strong financial management across the portfolio, including investment plans, operating costs, vendor expenditure and business cases.

  • Manage strategic technology vendors and implementation partners supporting Revenue solutions.

  • Build and develop a high-performing team with strong commercial, functional, product and technology capabilities.

  • Establish performance measures covering business value, adoption, delivery, service, cost and portfolio health.

  • Contribute to enterprise Technology strategy and priorities as a member of the CIO leadership team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • Significant senior leadership experience within a large, complex enterprise technology organization.

  • Demonstrated experience as a senior technology partner to Sales, Marketing or broader commercial organizations.

  • Strong understanding of Sales and Marketing business processes, capabilities and technology requirements.

  • Experience supporting enterprise commercial platforms such as CRM, sales enablement, marketing technology or related solutions.

  • Strong track record partnering with senior commercial executives and influencing business and technology strategy.

  • Proven ability to translate commercial strategy into technology roadmaps, investment priorities and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience leading technology-enabled commercial or digital transformation.

  • Strong product, portfolio and lifecycle-management orientation.

  • Experience operating in a matrix model in which business-facing technology teams consume shared platforms and technical capabilities.

  • Ability to maintain end-to-end accountability without directly controlling every technology component required to deliver a solution.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, cloud platforms, integration, data, analytics, automation and AI.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and apply emerging technologies to practical commercial opportunities.

  • Experience simplifying application portfolios and reducing duplication, customization and technical debt.

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including business cases, investment prioritization and vendor management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and senior technology professionals.

  • Excellent executive communication, influencing, stakeholder-management and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to combine strategic thinking, commercial orientation and disciplined execution in a global organization.
