As our Senior Director Revenue Cycle Operations, Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) your primary responsibility will be to lead the Motor Vehicle Accident team and oversee all recovery functions for the AR & Denials service line. Team management responsibilities include direct management of day-to-day recovery operations, professional development and coaching of team members, and partnership/collaboration with the AR & Denials operations team. Client management responsibilities include development of relationships with client organizations/executives, helping to ensure superior service delivery and achievement of project outcomes, and the identification and delivery of strategic initiatives and expansion opportunities. You will be accountable for the management, oversight, and the execution of the Recovery Department strategy to ensure continued success related to revenue generation, cost savings, client value, and growth. You must be able to operate effectively with C-suite audiences and maintain professional relationships that lead to strong client references through deep and sustained client relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of Motor Vehicle Accident operations experience. Keys to success include change management experience and the ability to implement additional structure and process that enables scalable growth and drives increased consistency and standardization within the department. To thrive in this role, you must have revenue cycle work experience in a Director-level role and/or extensive revenue cycle work leadership and people management experience. Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex changes with a variety of interdependent pieces are required. Successful candidates will be process-oriented with a critical eye for detail, be self-motivated and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused.
Selected Responsibilities
- Develop operational workflows to positively impact strategic initiatives between both R1 and the client (optimization, automation, financial, quality, process management, risk management, global, communication, and resource planning).
- Operationally align workforce and resource utilization (global and domestic) and talent.
- Work as a leader in the department, helping achieve department goals on budgeting, administration, training, staff retention, and employee development.
- Participate in the development and application of operational metrics and in setting direction and benchmarks (KPIs) of the Department during quarterly or annual planning sessions.
- Establish recurring reporting mechanisms for clients, revenue goals, obstacles related to meeting established client protocols, expectations and/or financial goals, training development programs, well-being of staff and recovery leadership team.
- Implement and monitor reoccurring internal reviews of clients and actively seek new opportunities with prospective and existing clients.
- Establish and manage policies, procedures, and standards to measure and monitor production, inventory, projects, and revenue.
- Coach recovery leadership team on how to collaborate and support utilization management efforts. Develop mitigation plans to resolve utilization problems quickly before they negatively impact operations.
- Have an inquiring mind; continuously pursuing professional development, innovation, and opportunities for improvement.
- Own all management decisions regarding daily operations within the Motor Vehicle Accident team.
- In collaboration with senior leaders in AR & Denials, set a strategic vision for the collective team and execute and improve the operating model.
- Regularly meet with AR & Denial’s Client Delivery team to identify and establish client priorities/needs to drive assignments within the department. Priorities will be driven based upon company KPIs, client expectations, client schedule/meeting frequency, client performance, and available inventory.
- Partner with Business Development and Client Success teams to engage clients in tailored strategies that increase value for the client and deepen their relationship with R1.

- Must have the ability to describe and present business ideas and concepts in a clear, concise and understandable manner to technical and non-technical individuals,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10 or more years of direct relevant Motor Vehicle Accident experience within healthcare provider operations, consulting, technology implementations, and/or process improvement
- Working knowledge of industry best practices in Motor Vehicle Accident processes: insurance verification, billing, charge capture, contractual adjustments, first and third-party reimbursement, lien filing processes, and cash management.
- Proven leadership, management, organizational skills, and experience with leading EHR and revenue cycle systems, including but not limited to Epic, Meditech and Cerner.
- Ability to travel as needed
