We're looking for a Senior Director of Brand Marketing & Communications to lead a cross functional marketing and communications function and connect it directly to business growth. This role requires someone who operates fluently in two directions: with executives and business leaders, you're the person who connects brand to business—bringing audience insight, storytelling, and digital experience into rooms where the conversation is about revenue, OKRs, and growth. With your team, you're a mentor and a builder—directly managing specialists in social media, PR/communications, and creative, setting clear expectations, nurturing careers, and helping each person see how their day-to-day work connects to the company's broader goals.
The ideal candidate is both a strategic operator and a people-first leader. They can pressure test a content strategy, shape a communications plan, guide a social campaign, coach someone through a tough quarter, and present to executives—all in the same week. They understand that modern marketing spans traditional channels, AI-powered discovery, and evolving audience behaviors, and they know how to help a team adapt with confidence. This role is responsible for bringing together digital marketing, SEO, AEO, AI discovery, social, email, content, lifecycle, web, analytics, integrated campaigns, communications strategy, and executive messaging into a unified strategy that drives measurable outcomes.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a growth marketing strategy aligned to company goals, revenue priorities, product launches, audience needs, and market trends. Translate executive priorities and OKRs into clear marketing plans, campaigns, channel strategies, and team-level action.
- Serve as the bridge between leadership and marketing execution. Bring audience insight, brand strategy, and business context into executive discussions. Help business leaders understand how story, digital experience, and brand narrative support their goals.
- Represent marketing and communications in cross-functional conversations with Product, Sales, Business Development, Legal, Creative, Analytics, Operations, and People teams. Navigate executive relationships with confidence—aligning when appropriate, pushing back when necessary, and advocating for your team's capacity.
- Own the marketing reporting framework. Present performance to executives in a clear, decision oriented way. Connect marketing activity to business priorities, customer behavior, and measurable outcomes. Partner with analytics and revenue teams to improve attribution and funnel visibility.
- Directly lead, manage, and develop a team of social, communications, and creative specialists including a Social Media Manager, PR & Communications Manager, and Social Media Designer. Own performance management, goalsetting, feedback, and career development for your direct reports. Mentor each team member based on their strengths, growth areas, and career aspirations. Help them develop strategic thinking alongside craft skills so they understand not just what to execute, but why it matters to the business.
- Set strategic direction for social media, PR/communications, and digital content. Own the quality, consistency, and business alignment of the work your team produces. Oversee execution across social, SEO, AI discovery, email, web, content, lifecycle, and campaigns.
- Own the strategy for organic visibility across traditional SEO, AI search, LLM discovery, and emerging answer engines. Build frameworks for AI-era content including topic authority, structured content, entity optimization, and answer ready formats.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- 10+ years of experience across growth marketing, digital marketing, communications, integrated marketing, content, SEO, social, email, or related functions.
- 4+ years of people leadership experience directly managing multi-functional teams, including performance management, mentorship, and career development.
- Demonstrated ability to connect brand, story, audience insight, and digital experience to business outcomes—and to communicate that connection clearly to executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and grow specialists in social, communications, and creative functions—helping them build both craft excellence and business acumen.
- Deep fluency across SEO, AEO, AI discovery, social, email, content, web, analytics, attribution, campaign strategy, and communications.
- Strong executive presence with confidence navigating complex interpersonal dynamics, protecting team bandwidth, and pushing back when appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong judgment around brand reputation, compliance, executive messaging, and sensitive topics.
- Understanding of modern SEO, AEO, LLM discovery, structured content, and digital visibility.
- Experience in fintech, home services, SaaS, energy, sustainability, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus.
Compensation: $175,000 annually
