Manages technology vendor governance, intake operations, various contract reviews, supplier engagement tracking, and executive-level visibility across the vendor lifecycle.
What You Will Do:
  • Supports resolution of supplier, contract, SOW, and project intake issues by coordinating with business partners, Purchasing, Legal, Finance, and various other Caterpillar and supplier contacts. Develops and improves VMO workflows, VIDA intake processes, review checklists, approval paths, templates, reporting methods, and escalation routines. Implement processes and tools for different types of contracts, risk assessments, disputes, and issue resolutions, etc.
  • Conducting analyses of existing vendor networks to assess their capability of meeting business objectives; recommending new vendors in terms of capacity. Analyzes supplier engagements, project volume, renewal timelines, spend exposure, concentration risk, aging requests, and supplier alignment with business needs.
  • Reviews SOWs, renewals, amendments, NDAs/NDSAs, and MSAs for completeness, compliance, risk, scope clarity, deliverables, funding alignment, acceptance criteria, and governance requirements.

  • Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.

Stakeholder Management
  • Assesses the role of the board and its committees in promoting governance and accountability to stakeholders.
  • Uses an appropriate range of technology mediums to communicate effectively with stakeholders in formal and informal situations.
  • Provides assistance to colleagues promoting a culture of inclusion, collaboration, ethics and compliance.
  • Applies empathy and cultural sensitivity with diverse stakeholders.
  • Assesses the opportunities and risks of pursuing a corporate strategy in the context of ever-increasing complex stakeholder considerations.

Product and Vendor Evaluation
  • Assists in selecting suitable products and vendors within the organization.
  • Analyzes and prioritizes products and vendors in the marketplace.
  • Follows the established processes and procedures for product and vendor evaluation.
  • Understands the software requirements by cooperating and consulting with architects and other IT professionals.
  • Follows stated requirements, including local selection criteria and standards for product and vendor evaluation.

Contracts Management and Administration
  • Administers locally relevant contracts for the department.
  • Implements organizational protocols and procedures for contracts management.
  • Explains the types of information required before a contract is signed.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulations.
  • Assists in creating files of relevant information for specific vendors, customers, or contracts.

Vendor Management
  • Resolves routine supplier issues; escalates non-routine issues up chain of command.
  • Supports supplier governance by maintaining visibility to active engagements, open issues, renewal needs, performance concerns, escalation items, and portfolio-level reporting.
  • Works with vendors to ensure that purchases meet delivery date and quality specifications.
  • Researches alternative vendors or suppliers; participates in supplier selection.
  • Acts as the routine contact point between the organization and vendors.
  • Follows procedures in carrying out routine supplier management tasks.

ITIL Service Delivery
  • Has worked in direct support of providing a specific service.
  • Describes control and quality tools used in service delivery.
  • Describes tools and techniques for optimizing application performance.
  • Identifies data center functions needed to support that service; cities common problems.
  • Explains tools and techniques for monitoring and improving the quality of service.

Additional Information:
  • Required Travel is up to 50%.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
