Who We Are
Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio. Just how many awards you ask? A whopping 21 in total so far… Including Mobile Game of the Year from both The Game Awards and DICE, Best Strategy Game from IGN and the prestigious Apple Design Award for Innovation. Yes, that’s a lot of awards! But these accolades don’t magically materialize, they’re a testament to the amazing folks who make up our studio. You could be the next addition to our award-winning team! Continue reading to find out more.
For our debut game, MARVEL SNAP, we’ve partnered with Marvel (Trust us, we had to pinch ourselves too!). We’ve got other SUPER FUN (but still secret) projects in the works and this role is a chance to be a part of something new, and special at the company. As a remote-first company, we value diversity and encourage applications from everyone who can bring something unique to the table.

Your Role
MARVEL SNAP redefined mobile card games, and we’re looking for a Senior Design Director to help shape its future. You’ll be responsible for driving the game’s long-term design vision, partnering with a talented and seasoned team of designers to ensure SNAP continues to surprise and delight players for years to come.

At Second Dinner, we don’t silo disciplines—design, art, product, engineering, and production collaborate closely to make magic. You’ll be a central leader in that group, working with peers across the studio and the GM of SNAP to define our roadmap and deliver consistently great player experiences. You’ll also lead and manage the SNAP design team, providing clear direction, strong mentorship, and the environment they need to thrive.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design discipline for MARVEL SNAP, ensuring quality, coherence, and innovation across all content and systems

  • Own the long-term design vision for the game and guide the team in evolving and expanding the genre we helped define

  • Partner with game leadership to shape the roadmap using data, ecosystem insights, player feedback, and strong design judgment

  • Collaborate with other discipline leads to launch features and content that delight players and move our key metrics

  • Manage and develop a team of designers, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes creativity, accountability, and continuous growth

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of game development experience, including:

    • 4+ years leading or managing game designers

  • A proven track record of creative leadership on successful, high-performing live service games

  • Experience managing and scaling teams of designers across a variety of design disciplines

  • Strong understanding of the mobile market and what drives successful, player-centric live ops

  • Strategic thinking rooted in design expertise and informed by player sentiment and game health data

  • A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and drives alignment across disciplines

Nice to Have, But Not Required:

  • Hands-on experience with card game design (we’re open to non-card game experts who bring fresh perspective and strong fundamentals)

The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $250,000 - $300,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
