What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to modernize reporting infrastructure that will drive alignment, standardization, collaboration, and simplification across all Power BI content for the division.
- Design, develop, and implement advanced analytics models using statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve complex business problems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Contribute to the development of dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI.
- Mentor others and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
What You Have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience: 4 or more years of experience in analytics, business support, data science, economics, information technology, and/or statistics
- Business Statistics: Use statistical tools and concepts-like sample size, distributions, and standard deviation-to interpret business data and avoid common misinterpretations.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ensure high precision in processing large datasets by applying quality assurance techniques and cross-checking mechanisms.
- Analytical Thinking: Use structured methods such as flow charts and root cause analysis to evaluate problems and propose data-driven solutions.
- Machine Learning: Implement machine learning techniques using tools like Python and R to support business improvements through data mining and predictive modeling.
- Programming Languages: Support and develop structured code using organizational standards across specialized programming platforms.
- Query and Database Access Tools: Write and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple databases, including dynamic joins and embedded SQL, while mentoring others on best practices.
- Requirements Analysis: Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements using organizational tools and client communication to support successful system development.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working in manufacturing, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive mindset.
- Knowledge of data quality, security, and engineering principles.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar systems and data environments.
