Summary:

In this role, you will develop high-quality claims enrichment methodologies and automated analytics products for Vizient. You will conduct sophisticated data analysis to help address critical business and provider questions and enable providers to drive improvements in clinical, operational, and economic outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data science solutions and insights across multiple projects, and single or multiple domains, with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate findings from exploratory and predictive data analysis to administrative and clinical leaders for multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate skills in statistical design, efficiency, and sophisticated problem solving for multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate expertise in core data assessment steps including data discovery, structuring, cleaning, enrichment, validation and publishing insights across multiple data sets.
  • Independently leverage traditional statistics, time series forecasting, machine learning, natural language processing, and/or other statistical approaches to create, trouble shoot and implement single platform solutions supporting data science deliverables within individual domains to support project goals.
  • Make autonomous decisions to operationalize data modeling, exploratory data analysis, inferential statistics machine learning model development, project deployment, and visualization based on specified project goals or design objectives.
  • Execute technical code revisions on multiple key data science code repositories and provide guidance on lower complexity and project-specific revisions.
  • Maintenance and refinement of demand estimate methodologies, proprietary grouping logic methods, and medical claims enrichments.
  • Support the delivery of customized analyses, leveraging internal and external, raw or published data, as well as structured and unstructured datasets for Vizient tools, offerings, and consulting engagements.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across Vizient to identify standard and alternative performance measures, validate and test selected measures and algorithms, and assure alignment with targeted use cases, outcomes, and regulatory requirements such as validity, reliability, cell size, HIPAA, and other mandated requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise in relevant core programming tools including Python and SQL and relevant data platforms such as Apache Spark, Azure, Data Bricks.
  • Provide guidance to other data scientists in the design of data science insights.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred in applied math, statistics, computer science, econometrics, or related field. 
  • 5 or more years of experience managing large disparate data sets and using quantitative and qualitative analysis to draw meaningful and valid insights required.
  • 3 or more years of programming experience using Python required.
  • Expertise managing and analyzing large payer-sourced and provider-sourced claims data required.
  • Knowledge of encounter and care delivery logics, geospatial logic and proxies, and payment methodologies required.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and validating synthetic datasets for analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Familiarity with Datavant tokenization method preferred.
  • Must be a team player and be willing to collaborate and assist other members of the team as necessary.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
