SENIOR DATA ENGINEER
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will help customers drive business value using the e2open Demand Signal Management product portfolio. You will design and implement solutions to automate customer business processes to drive business value through innovation using algorithms and models that can be utilized for supply chain retail analytics. In this role, you will partner closely with our customers and participate in customer on site visits for Fortune 500 clients to discuss requirements.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- You design and implement solutions to automate customer business processes
- You utilize SQL knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and solve data integration issues
- You monitor and maintain customer systems and data integration processes
- You enhance systems by studying current practices and designing improvements
- You work with customers to establish functional requirements and technical specifications
- You understand complex technologies and utilize this understanding to develop effective customer solutions
- You maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures and documenting system processes
- You collaborate with cross functional teams to implement customer business solutions
- You partner with more junior members of the Data Engineering Team to train e2open’s Demand Signal Management platform
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years of experience implementing data warehouse systems or other types of data projects, experience with retailer data is a bonus
- 3+ years of experience in Python
- Experience with Pandas, Selenium, Beautiful Soup, Requests, etc. is a bonus
- High level understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence principles
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to bring problems to resolution
- Experience in implementing data ETL processes
- Ability to write complex SQL statements for data validation, troubleshooting, and implementation of custom business processes
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work within functional and cross functional teams
- Interest in challenging technological projects and avid desire to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- General office environment and responsibilities requiring:
- Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday
- Placing and receiving phone calls
- Occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 10 pounds
