As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement scalable, high-quality data systems at Valo. You will define core data schemas, standardize ingestion workflows, and help lay the foundation for a scalable, governed and FAIR-compliant data platform. This role sits at the intersection of data science and software engineering, with broad exposure to scientific use cases. A key part of your work will be helping make our foundational data platform as self-service as possible, empowering teams to follow best practices without friction.
What You'll Do...
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and ingestion workflows.
- Define and maintain schemas and tables in Snowflake and other systems.
- Create reusable templates for data ingestion processes.
- Build self-service tools and interfaces that help teams access and use data correctly and efficiently.
- Write clean, maintainable and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with data science and software engineering teams on shared infrastructure and tooling.
What You Bring...
- 5+ years of experience in data or software engineering.
- 2+ years of experience working in biotech or life sciences.
- Strong foundation in computer science; degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and modern cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc).
- Proven experience designing data pipelines and scalable data architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tool and automated workflows.
