Summary/Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data infrastructure in the cloud. You will work closely with our platform, analytics, and product teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and optimized for performance and scalability. Your expertise in AWS services and Infrastructure as Code will be vital in building secure, automated, and maintainable data solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance data pipelines using AWS services such Redshift, S3, and DMS.

  • Build infrastructure for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools.

  • Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure deployments.

  • Ensure observability, reliability, and performance of data systems through logging, alerting, and monitoring best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and support analytics and machine learning use cases.

  • Drive automation and standardization in data engineering practices and infrastructure.

  • Maintain strong security and compliance standards throughout the data stack.

Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on cloud-native data infrastructure.

  • Expertise in AWS services, particularly S3, DMS, Redshift, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tools.

  • Proficiency in Python for data pipeline development.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like ECS or Kubernetes.

  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows.

  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with a DevOps mindset.

Nice To Have

  • Exposure to event-driven architectures and stream processing (Kafka, Kinesis).

  • Understanding of cost optimization and performance tuning in cloud data environments.

  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

Travel Required

We are a fully remote company, and this job may require up to 5% of travel to be successful. Job-related travel expenses are reviewed and must be approved by your manager.

Our compensation structure is designed to be fair, competitive, and transparent, ensuring that every team member is recognized and compensated equitably across roles, levels, and locations.

In accordance with various State’s transparency regulations, we provide the following salary range information for this position:

  • Base salary range: $155,974 - $208,819 annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.

  • Additional compensation: This role may also be eligible for an equity package (in the form of stock options). If any other compensation benefits apply, they will be discussed during the interview process.
