Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Copywriter is the steward of Limelight Hotels’ voice, crafting clear, compelling, and culturally attuned copy that brings the brand to life across every guest touchpoint. From seasonal campaigns and social media to in-property materials and digital content, this role blends strategy with execution to shape how Limelight speaks, connects, and inspires. Working closely with the Senior Content Manager and the Brand Marketing team, the Senior Copywriter contributes to campaign work, voice development, and storytelling systems that elevate both brand and business goals. This is a hands-on, craft-focused role for a writer who knows how to think big, sweat the details, and adapt tone with precision.  This role reports to the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $68,000 to $92,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Write and edit copy across all guest-facing channels: seasonal campaigns, hotel launches, website content, paid media, social, email, signage, room descriptions, menus, confirmations, and operational messaging
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Limelight voice system, including tone guidelines, linguistic palettes, seasonal/territorial shifts, and copy standards
  • Collaborate with designers, art directors, and marketers to ensure alignment between copy and visuals across all brand communications
  • Own naming and messaging for packages, F&B concepts, events, and property experiences in partnership with brand and content teams
  • Translate creative strategy into scalable copy systems across multiple content types and formats
  • Provide written support for editorial and storytelling initiatives that connect the Limelight brand to lifestyle, local culture, and community
  • Support internal communications, including leadership messaging and operational storytelling
  • Participate in creative reviews and working sessions, presenting copy when needed and providing strategic rationale for messaging choices
  • Maintain version control, tone consistency, and project organization using platforms like Airtable and Figma
  • Review and refine third-party or partner content for voice alignment and quality
  • Act as a voice advocate within the creative process—helping keep tone consistent and brand-right across all platforms
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field is required
  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience is required
  • Experience should include writing for hospitality, lifestyle, travel, fashion, or editorial brands
  • Prior experience developing brand voice, campaign messaging, and cross-platform storytelling is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of storytelling structures, editorial frameworks, and brand voice development.
  • Knowledge of hospitality guest experience touchpoints, including in-room, digital, and service-related messaging.
  • Knowledge of marketing channels and how copy performs across email, social media, paid media, and web platforms.
  • Knowledge of brand standards and editorial style guides for consistent tone and message delivery.
  • Skill in writing copy that adapts across tone and format: brand films, paid headlines, operational messaging, and lifestyle content.
  • Skill in collaborating with cross-functional creative and marketing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in using digital tools such as Figma, Airtable, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based workflow platforms.
  • Skill in naming, tagline development, and building scalable copy systems for campaigns and platforms.
  • Skill in editing, proofreading, and version control across multiple projects.
  • Ability to think strategically about messaging while writing with precision and creativity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder inputs with professionalism and clarity.
  • Ability to adapt tone and language based on platform, audience, and business goal.
  • Ability to maintain high standards for voice and brand consistency across a large volume of work.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and accept revisions with flexibility and collaboration.

Additional Information

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time  
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces 
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
