MissionSquare is seeking a seasoned content professional who combines strong copywriting, editorial judgment, and detailed proofreading skills with content strategy and project leadership. In this role, you will create and refine compelling digital and traditional content for retirement plan sponsors, consultants, participants, investors, and prospective customers, while helping ensure communications are accurate, consistent, audience-centered, and aligned with business goals.


Essential functions for this role include:


  • Write clear, compelling copy about retirement planning, financial services, and investment-related topics for integrated campaigns, newsletters, articles, emails, websites, case studies, videos, fund commentaries, presentation decks, letters, and other communications.
  • Create, edit, and proofread technical and service-related communications.
  • Develop content strategies and create, edit, and proofread materials that engage key audiences, clarify complex information, and support measurable business outcomes.
  • Coordinate content reviews and ensure adherence to company standards for brand voice, style, quality, accuracy, consistency, and AP style preferences.
  • Manage project deliverables and timelines, coordinate work with internal teams and external agencies, and maintain proactive, clear stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate across Marketing and the enterprise to deliver communications that promote client engagement, adoption of products and services, asset retention, and growth.
  • Stay current on company products and services, industry trends, audience needs, and content best practices.
  • Proofread materials and facilitate compliance review requests for the Marketing team.
  • Update and maintain company style guides, and coordinate the design process for formatted materials, templates, and related assets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Five to seven years of experience developing content strategy, writing, editing, proofreading, and managing projects, preferably in retirement planning, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills, with strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to use content best practices and data-informed insights to support audience needs and business goals.
  • Strong strategic thinking, initiative, organization, project management, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, collaborate effectively, and deliver high-quality work under deadline pressure.
  • Experience leading content projects in financial services is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF editing features, and AP style; familiarity with AI-enabled content creation and editing tools.
