Senior Content Marketing Manager - Remote

About Thriveworks

Thriveworks is a mental health care company founded by clinicians in 2008 and still led by them today. With 340+ locations and a nationwide hybrid care model, we serve over 175,000 clients annually through more than 1.7 million sessions, and we're growing. In addition to working directly with clients, we partner with health systems and primary care providers because we believe mental health is inseparable from physical health. As a clinician-led organization, we're built to support the people who do this work with the tools, community, and stability you need to build a career that lasts.

About the role

We’re looking for a senior content marketing manager who can operate at the intersection of brand copywriting, editorial judgment, and clinical accuracy—and do it across a broad content portfolio. This is a cross-functional role that touches nearly every stage of the patient journey, from the moment someone searches for a provider to the pages that answer their most specific questions about insurance, medications, and what care at Thriveworks looks like.

You’ll work closely with the head of content and leaders across operations, clinical, product, and design to build efficient, scalable workflows and produce content that's clinically accurate, easy for a patient to understand, and unmistakably Thriveworks. You’ll also partner  with the SEO/AEO team to shape what we build and how we improve what exists to better serve our patients across all stages of the marketing funnel.

The right person for this role writes clearly about complicated things. They understand what it feels like to be someone searching for mental health care—anxious, overwhelmed, and trying to figure out whether Thriveworks is the right fit—and they know how to write content that meets that person where they are.

What success looks like

In this role, success means holding both the strategy and the details without losing either. On any given day you might be deep in brand copy for a new service line, pressure-testing clinical language with a subject matter expert, or figuring out why a high-traffic page isn't telling our story well—and moving fluidly between all three. You don't need to be handed a playbook; you help build them.

You understand that great content at a healthcare company requires satisfying a lot of different needs at once—clinical accuracy, SEO performance, brand consistency, and above all, genuine value to the patient. You're skilled at collecting input from across the organization, finding creative ways to honor what matters most, and producing something that doesn't feel like a compromise. The patient always comes first, and you never lose sight of that.

Key responsibilities

  • Core brand pages. Write and manage strategic copy across our middle- and lower-funnel pages—service lines, conditions, medications, insurance, location, and comparison content—with SEO/AEO optimization as a foundation and brand voice and patient experience leading every decision. Partner upstream with the SEO/AEO team to identify content gaps and shape new page concepts before strategies are finalized, not after.

  • Content production. Own end-to-end CMS production (Wordpress) for our editorial content program: formatting, media, on-page SEO/AEO optimization, CTAs, and front-end QA.

  • Strategic content refreshes. Manage the prioritization, briefing, assigning, editing, and production of ongoing strategic refreshes of our in-depth educational content, working closely with the head of content and SEO team to identify what to rebuild and to what standard, then managing the execution.

  • Clinician contributor program. Own the operational backbone of our clinician contributor network: tracking contributors, managing outreach and relationships, coordinating clinical reviews, and identifying the right clinician for each opportunity.

  • Website governance. Own the accuracy and quality of dynamic site content—testimonials, awards, FAQs, and beyond—ensuring every page reflects the most current, complete, and on-brand version of Thriveworks at all times.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of experience in editorial, brand copywriting, or digital content management—ideally spanning more than one of these.

  • Health content experience. Whether you've worked as a health journalist, at an agency with healthcare clients, or in-house at a health brand, you understand the rigor this content demands and know how to write about sensitive topics with accuracy and care.

  • A track record of translating complicated, clinical, or overwhelming subject matter into clear, natural language that connects with people.

  • Solid SEO and AEO fundamentals. You understand what makes content perform technically and can execute against those requirements without it showing in the writing.

  • Comfort working in a CMS: WordPress, Drupal, or similar. The specific platform matters less than the ability to build and manage content end-to-end.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and freelancer relationships with minimal oversight.

  • A resourceful, self-directed working style. When you don't know how to do something, your first instinct is to figure it out.

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and a genuine curiosity to keep experimenting. You understand both the opportunity and the limits, and you're excited to help figure out where the balance is.

  • A collaborative working style. You're comfortable working cross-functionally and know how to get aligned before you execute.

  • Bonus: experience in mental or behavioral health, familiarity with AEO, or a background managing clinical contributors.

Benefits

  • An amazing team culture

  • Professional development and advancement opportunities

  • 401(k) with 3% employer match

  • Healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits

  • Paid time off and paid holidays

  • Professional EAP program for team members and household

  • Additional coverage options available: short-term disability, long-term disability, and group accident insurance
