About The Role

The Network Industries Strategies (“NIS”) group at FTI Consulting uses economic and financial analysis and market modeling to analyze complex issues involving pricing, valuation, sustainability, and costs of service across the spectrum of network industries. Our energy team delivers data-driven insights on U.S. power and natural gas markets that support strategic planning, long-term resource planning, asset transactions and due diligence, quantitative policy analysis, regulatory filings, and expert testimony. We combine deep market knowledge with best-in-class simulation methods and data — including capacity expansion planning and production cost modeling — to help utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, technology companies, trade groups, and government agencies make critical decisions in the face of uncertain energy market and policy outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets, and to build reproducible, well-documented analysis.

  • Ability to write memoranda to describe the procedures employed to complete tasks and to summarize the results of research or analysis.

  • Solid communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to clients and staff within and outside of the firm.

  • Ability to support and direct communication with clients and staff members on engagements, while updating senior team members on progress and issues.
