Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and gathers information for the quarterly compliance reviews, quarterly loan reviews, employee account reviews, the internal control review program and internal audit program; collaborates with management to develop and implement plans to resolve identified weaknesses.
- Monitors the Compliance Management Program and related activities on a continuing basis to take appropriate steps on improving effectiveness; develops, initiates, maintains, and revises procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal or improper conduct.
- Works with Learning and Development to ensure staff complete appropriate compliance training.
- Monitors guidance and bulletins issued by government regulatory agencies and industry groups for emerging changes; identifies the impact of new regulations on the Credit Union and advises management on the viable control options for mitigating the risk for emerging compliance issues.
- Assists the Risk Management Department with the ongoing review and update of the Credit Union’s policies and risk assessments; prepares supporting overview reports for Board of Directors review and approval.
- Reviews all marketing promotions and documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for reviewing and working with internal and external partners to update the following Credit Union consumer disclosures: Important Account Information for our Members, Truth in Savings (TIS), Fee Schedule, Privacy Policy and loan product disclosures based on regulatory and business directives.
- Provides guidance to the Fraud Department on BSA/AML/OFAC compliance when needed.
- Comply with all Federal Regulations as they pertain to your job duties, including BSA.
Position Requirements:
- This position is Remote.
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience is Required.
- 3+ years of experience in the financial industry with an emphasis in financial regulations is Required.
- Required Certification: Obtain compliance certification through the America’s Credit Unions within the first 18 months of employment. After obtaining the certification, the employee will need to maintain the certification including the renewal of the certification through America's Credit Unions.
- Working knowledge of compliance-related laws, regulation, issues and credit union/bank supervisory procedures and knowledge of credit unions/banking functions, how they are organized and regulated is Required.
- Proven organizational abilities and communication skills that will be utilized to promote the Compliance Management Program and further its effectiveness at the Credit Union is Required.
