The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s on-premises and Azure infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, security, and scalability of mission-critical systems, and acts as a subject-matter expert for server operations, Azure IaaS, identity, and core infrastructure services. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide standards, mentor team members, and lead complex infrastructure initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Infrastructure Engineering
  • Architect, deploy, and optimize Azure Virtual Machines, including standardized images, automation, availability sets, and performance tuning.
  • Lead identity and access design using Azure AD, RBAC, Privileged Identity Management, and conditional access controls.
  • Design and maintain Azure networking (VNets, peering, NSGs, private endpoints, firewalls).
  • Oversee Azure governance including policies, tagging standards, resource organization, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID and Intune.
Server & Datacenter Engineering
  • Lead server architecture, builds, patching strategies, and lifecycle planning for on-prem and virtual server environments.
  • Own Windows Server infrastructure includes clustering, failover, storage, and performance analysis.
  • Manage VMware or other virtualization infrastructure including ESXi hosts, clusters, vCenter, HA/DRS, and storage integration.
  • Drive modernization efforts including virtualization improvements and Azure migration.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex compute, storage, and virtualization issues.
Core Infrastructure Services
  • Architect, maintain, and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory environments.
  • Ensure scalability and security for directory services, group policies, and domain integrations.
  • Establish standards for IP management, naming conventions, and service resiliency.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and continuity planning.
Operational Excellence & Leadership
  • Lead major infrastructure projects and cloud transformations end-to-end.
  • Develop documentation, standards, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive knowledge sharing.
  • Partner across teams to design secure and scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Participate in or lead on-call rotation for critical issues.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering with significant Azure and Windows Server focus.
  • Expert-level Azure IaaS experience including Virtual Machines, RBAC, and Entra ID.
  • Advanced Windows Server expertise including builds, hardening, clustering, and troubleshooting.
  • Deep knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory architecture.
  • Strong PowerShell automation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure initiatives.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and re-prioritize as necessary to align with current business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent).
  • Experience with HITRUST security framework and familiarity with the HITRUST certification process strongly preferred.
  • Background in Zero Trust and privileged access strategies.
  • Understanding of ITIL / ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
  • Experience with using ServiceNow or similar IT ticketing system platform
  • Experience with or familiar with core Systems Monitoring solutions

Salary Range: $130,000-$175,000

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship.
