The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer Implements organization's cloud strategy to focus on Cloud Infrastructure Capacity and Performance optimization at the intersection of all Cloud products and services, and all physical infrastructure (Servers, Data Centers).This role will be uniquely positioned to optimize these capacity plans at the most strategic levels by utilizing a combination of capacity/performance engineering and/or operations research/data science skills. May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.  Collaborates with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud based products/services, applications and solutions. Drives the roll-out of cloud management platforms, evaluates its performance and implements enhancements. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, andwork is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Capacity planning on private or public cloud platforms.
  • 3 or more years of cloud FinOps engineering
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Direct experience in capacity planning and right- sizing for a major private or public cloud
  • Practical experience and demonstrated success in Capacity management and Performance Engineering best practices
  • Experience with managing ambiguity, effective intellectual curiosity
  • Cloud capacity planning: plans for how to scale resources and most efficiently.
  • 3+ years of Cloud capacity right sizing: Resources descale or upscale based on the utilization
  • 3+ years of Cloud Capacity forecasting: Resource future needs and distribution
  • Cloud certifications with Azure or GCP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with mathematical optimization
  • Experience working with distributed systems at scale
  • Preference given to local or candidates willing to relocate.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.  
  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$106,900 - $147,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
