The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for addressing complex business problems by leveraging internal and external data to generate actionable insights for decision-makers. This role combines technical expertise in business intelligence with agile team leadership, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining high standards of data integrity and strategic alignment. The individual acts as a technical and process facilitator for the analytics team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced data solutions using leading BI tools, technologies, and techniques to collect, integrate, analyze, and present data for actionable business information.
  • Solve moderately complex to highly complex issues requiring deep analytics and evaluation of variable factors, most notably in healthcare settings.
  • Facilitate and support scrum events: Sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews, serving as scrum support for the BI project team.
  • Facilitate team productivity and flow
  • Develop clear, impactful data visualizations to support strategic direction and communication with senior and executive leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decisions are aligned with organizational goals, continuously improving consumer experiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or minimum 3 years technical experience in data analysis.
  • Proven track record as a collaborative team player in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies, values concepts and practices, including technically complex projects
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops as a product backlog tool
  • Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets in large organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience solving diverse business challenges using data analytics and visualization tools.
  • Proficiency with healthcare-related data and regulatory concerns.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for senior and executive audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a scrum master or agile facilitation role, with certification preferred but not required.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, SAS, or comparable data systems.
  • Previous experience in Power Platform, Power BI and Power Apps.
  • Successful delivery of analytics solutions in healthcare or related domains.

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$89,000 - $121,400 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
