Senior Business Data Product Owner - Pricing & Contracts Operations (U.S. - MN, CO, CT, MA, or TN)

A Day in the LifeAs a Senior Business Data Product Owner, you will help advance Medtronic’s mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life by ensuring product teams have the right data, at the right time, to deliver meaningful business and patient outcomes.Within the Pricing & Contracting (P&C) Agile model, this role serves as the business owner for data enablement across the value stream. You will work across product teams, business stakeholders, and IT to ensure data supports value-based decision-making and accountability. This includes developing a deep understanding of the end-to-end value stream, identifying where data is required to support product outcomes, and making informed business decisions on data priorities, tradeoffs, and impacts. You will partner closely with IT—particularly the IT Data Product Owner (Data Architect)—in a 2-in-a-box model, owning business decisions related to data while contributing to design discussions, feasibility assessments, and sequencing. While you do not build data platforms or pipelines, you ensure that data effectively supports product delivery, value measurement, and decision-making across pods.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Business Ownership of Data Across the Value Stream
- Responsible for business decisions related to data used across the product value stream
- Collaborate with Value Stream Leader(s), P&C Leadership, and other stakeholder’s to understand value stream data needs
- Understand how data flows across systems, products, and processes
- Assess business impacts, dependencies, and tradeoffs of data‑related decisions
Enabling Product Teams with Data
- Facilitate cross P&C discussions to define Data Product standards and designs, in close collaboration with Product Owners and Architects
- Partner with Product Owners to co-own identification and prioritization of all data-related work across Agile PODS initiatives and features with support from P&C Leadership
- Support teams to make sure they have data to measure value, outcomes, and adoption
- Enable consistent, fact‑based planning, prioritization, and review discussions
Partnership with IT and Enterprise MDM
- Work closely with the IT Data Product Owner, Data Architects, and Enterprise Master Data Management team to articulate data business context and definitions
- Collaborate on technical design options, sequencing, and feasibility assessments
- Balance business priorities with architectural standards and platform constraints
Stakeholder Engagement & Decision Support
- Engage business stakeholders to understand decision needs and data requirements
- Synthesize inputs to support transparent, value‑based decisions
- Communicate impacts and tradeoffs of data decisions clearly to leadership
Data Quality, Governance & Adoption (Business Perspective)
- Champion business definitions, data quality standards, and usage expectations
- Partner with IT and governance teams to ensure data is trusted and consistently interpreted
- Ensure IT Commercial Data Delivery and Enterprise MDM are governing necessary data updates, maintaining data quality and data accuracy according to defined data business context
- Drive adoption by ensuring data aligns to real business decisions and workflows
- Collaborate with the Architects to drive Master Data improvements.
Must Haves
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience,
- OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working with enterprise data governance, master data management (MDM), or data quality initiatives from a business ownership perspective
- Experience working with master data domains such as product, customer, or contract data across enterprise systems
- Ability to understand end‑to‑end value streams and how data supports product outcomes, operational processes, and business decisions
- Strong product mindset with emphasis on value‑based decision‑making and enabling measurable product outcomes
- Comfort making tradeoffs and assessing business impacts of data‑related decisions across systems and stakeholders
- Experience partnering with technical teams, architects, or engineers to define business data requirements without owning technical implementation
- Experience working across interconnected business systems and integrations, with an understanding of how data flows between platforms and impacts downstream operations
- Experience enabling teams with data to measure product value, adoption, performance metrics, and business outcomes
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP or integrated platforms where master data drives operational and reporting processes
- Experience supporting data cleansing, deduplication, or data standardization initiatives involving customer, product, or contract records
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to align business teams around common data definitions and standards
- Familiarity with Agile or product‑based delivery environments supporting cross‑functional teams and value‑driven prioritization
- Proficiency in Snowflake, Databricks, and webMethods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration or planning tools
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
