The opportunity

The Senior Business Analyst ITS reports to the Assistant Vice President of ITS Governance & Portfolio Management. You will engage with multiple teams throughout the university to learn processes, policies, and procedures, and translate business requirements into system changes/functional specifications and develop efficiencies/solutions. The Senior Business Analyst ITS works as a liaison between the ITS department and other units. You will work on cross-functional programs, lead discussions to translate business requirements into system changes/functional specifications, and facilitate conversations to identify potential solutions. Also, you will participate in the testing and validation of solutions delivering on the approved requirements ensuring the desired outcomes.

You will work 100% remotely from any of our approved states. #LI-Remote

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct interviews and facilitate group sessions with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Document all aspects of business requirements using best practices for artifacts such as process models, use cases, epics, user stories, impact analysis, completion criteria, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Establish the requirements baseline and ensure changes are investigated and managed.
  • Document and manage requirements traceability matrix and confirm solution meets requirements.
  • Use advanced modeling techniques to produce diagrams, models, and prototypes that illustrate system and data relationships, and business process flows for both current and future states.
  • Analyze the business requirements and validate potential solutions/approaches with business and technical staff to identify potential improvements in functionality and processes, and ways that technology can help to achieve organizational goals.
  • Support business and technical partners in all aspects of testing including test script development, acceptance criteria, integration testing, test data creation, and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide consultative support to stakeholders to help them to achieve desired changes and outcomes.
  • Guide and support the transition of solutions from a development to a production/operational status.
  • Facilitate conversations between functional and technical teams to ensure common and deep understanding of business needs and solution capabilities to achieve agreed upon outcomes.
  • Participate in dialog with vendors and SNHU staff to understand vendor solutions and obligations, confirm vendor offerings, and monitor vendor performance towards SNHU requirements.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, QA and other team members to advise and support all phases of the software/system development lifecycle.
  • Provide standards of excellence in all documentation, training and assistance to team members appropriately tailored for specific audience and purpose.
  • Partner with project manager, stakeholders and peers to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities and resolve areas of confusion or overlap to ensure impactful teams.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience in business/operations/systems analysis, solution analysis, business process management, product ownership, or project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant professional experience demonstrating the knowledge and skills required to successfully perform the role.
  • Experience developing three or more of the following: Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional and Non-Functional Requirements, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Technical Specifications, Test Plans, Test Cases, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Experience leading and facilitating stakeholder interviews and requirements elicitation workshops, communicating findings and recommendations to varied audiences, and negotiating decisions and compromises among stakeholders. ·
  • Experience analyzing business processes, leading cross-functional stakeholders through structured solution evaluation processes, and translating business requirements into functional, non-functional, and technical requirements.·
  • Experience documenting cost-benefit projections, security considerations, and operational/change impact assessments, to support leadership decisions about implementation of complex business and technical solutions.·
  • Experienced in business process analysis and modeling, workflow analysis, gap analysis, root cause analysis, and documenting current-state and future-state processes using industry-standard methodologies.·
  • Familiarity with databases, CRMs, data mapping/flows.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, travel, heavy lifting, operating special equipment, working outdoors, and so forth. Consider the amount of time spent on activities.
  • Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Professional office environment. Sedentary work: Requires remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Compensation

The annual pay range for this position is $85,563.00 - $136,928.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $94,548.00 - $127,918.00.
